Has anyone got a pepper mill they actually like?

After a while they all seem to dull or put out huge lumps of pepper. I’ve been using the small jars with a grinder top but I’d really like a nice one that I’d be happy to have on the worktop. Any suggestions?

A top tip I got when I bought my David Mellor ones - Sea salt is an often too soft for powerful grinders and clogs them up. Use rock salt instead.

I use maldon, would this clog it up?

Don't put Maldon salt flakes in them, they don't need milling. Use something like Tidmans coarse rock salt.

I’ve got good Cole and Mason ones that you have to turn upside down and also some le creuset by the cooker. Would recommend both

I also only use Maldon salt in both and they’re fine!

I bought this Cole and Mason pepper mill yesterday in a secondhand shop. Cleaned up nicely. Not bad for 20 pence.

I've got a Turkish pepper mill, which I got in a charity shop. It's really cute and works really well

I adore my Le Creuset set - similar to a PP, DH and I treated ourselves one Christmas when they were on sale and we’ve been so pleased with them. Plus they have a 10 year warranty anyway!

Yep, The OXO one. It’s adjustable so you can choose the size of pepper lumps :) Had it about 5 years and still strong

I not long got mine! Love it!!🥰
