Best cordless stick vacuum?

FactFile1 · 26/12/2025 09:45

We have a shark stick cordless vacuum at the moment, it is about 3 years old but I really don’t rate the suction on it. I compared it with a plug in Miele and the Miele was so much more powerful, I just can’t deal with the plugging it in and lugging it around 🙈 I’m after a combo of what we have now.. easy stick but I loved the suction of a plug in Miele? Can anyone recomend?

Henry

We have a Dyson one. Wouldn't recommend it. It's fine for a quick spin around, but doesn't really clean deeply at all.

Our dyson has just given up the ghost and also need a new one...there must be one out there that's a corker...will keep watching. Thanks for posting OP.

I replaced my cordless Dyson with a cordless Miele and the difference is extraordinary. Dyson is pathetic in comparison

samlovesdilys · 26/12/2025 14:15

We have a shark animal hair one… huge improvement on old plug in Dyson

MightyGoldBear · 26/12/2025 14:29

Following we need a new cordless but really want a decent one. Our dyson one was rubbish. We have a shark plug in which is good but cumbersome.

PeopleTheyAintNoGood · 26/12/2025 14:35

How can Dyson be rubbish at picking up? I keep seeing this on MN and it makes no sense.
They are the most powerful of cordless vacuums.
Is everyone just comparing a Dyson from 20 years ago to new, or never actually cleaning the filters?

Neither comparing to an ancient one nor not cleaning the filters. Objectively the stick one does not pick up as well as either plug in dyson nor plug in shark.

FizzySnap · 26/12/2025 14:41

Dyson cordless stick I had was rubbish. Wouldn’t pick up.

I will always use corded. More powerful and no issues with battery life.

Which Miele one do you have? Donyou find it heavy? I looked at one in currys recently and it seemed a lot heavier than my dyson.

I have this one too and I find it great.

We have a cordless Miele, the Duoflex. We got it on 100 day trial so had some time to test it out and decide if we like it. It’s good, but you need to remember to charge it

mugglewump · 26/12/2025 15:25

I actually really like my cordless Shark. You have to wash the filters regularly (I have a spare set so can always have clean ones in the machine) and check the pipes don't get clogged, but it is really convenient, versatile and efficient.

boothandbones · 26/12/2025 15:25

I like my vax blade

Exhaustedbones · 26/12/2025 15:31

I had a long chat with someone in currys about this. I hated my Dyson. She said that from everything she jas seen and heard she thinks Samsung are the best ones.

cashmerecardigans · 26/12/2025 15:47

If you’d asked me until a few weeks ago I’d have said Samsung Jet. But now it keeps saying it is blocked, despite it not being. I keep cleaning the filter to no avail. Am looking at replacing with. Miele

Scampuss · 26/12/2025 16:04

I needed one that uses bags, so went for the Henry Quick, and it is fantastic, great suction, charge lasts a decent amount of time, heavy to use as a handheld, but multiple times better than my Dyson.

xanthomelana · 26/12/2025 16:39

Henry. Had 3 Dyson ones over the years, and the last one was a year old, but the cordless Henry outperforms all of them put together.

Kuromi86 · 26/12/2025 16:42

I absolutely love my Henry Quick, I got it to help with dog and cat hair between full hoovering with a regular Henry but now I just use the stick one 99% of the time

It’s the Miele Triflex HX2 Cat and Dog. It wasn’t cheap (Dyson money) but I have no regrets. It’s heavier than a Dyson but not uncomfortably so.

HarrietSchulenberg · 26/12/2025 16:53

Shark Anti Hair Wrap is fantastic for me. Sucks up my dog's long, floody hair with no problems. Had an old Dyson V7 Animal before that, until adult son burnt the motor out by only using it on Max Suck every time he used it. I bought a replacement motor and just use it upstairs now. Dyson are certainly not as good as they used to be but I'm very happy with the Shark.
I can't justify the cost of a Miele when the Shark does the job perfectly.

Pancakeflipper · 26/12/2025 17:00

We've had a Samsung for just over a year and I've been impressed with it especially on the carpeted areas. Keeps good charge levels.

Was a fraction of the cost of the latest Dyson.

Can those who have recommended Miele, Henry etc please link with the model they are using? I'd really appreciate it

LemaxObsessive · 26/12/2025 20:38

Henry Quick! It’s amazingly powerful, when it’s on boost mode I struggle to even push it! It does require pods BUT it compacts the dirt so each pod lasts ages and has the benefit of making emptying very clean. I love mine
