DH, DS and the DDs (dogs) are sound asleep and snoring.

I have wine to hand and I’m just chilling.

We’ve played family games and eaten a huge meal, I suspect I will be in bed by 9pm!

Right now nothing. DD is at her friend's for the night, OH is in bed, DS is in bed (its 10 o'clock here and I only just got him to bed) and I am eating cheese and drinking wine and wondering what to watch.

I’m sitting with 3yo DD while she falls asleep, listening to her new Gruffalo Child Tonie.

Parents and DH and other 2 DC are on FaceTime very loudly outside the door which is fuckin irritating tbh. Why must my mother shout?!

Just played some board games with dd1, dd2's been in the shower & chilling - she's feeling a bit under the weather. When Dd1's showered, I'll probably head to bed 💤.

My eldest and I are about to put a film on in my bed.

My husband is downstairs playing dinosaurs with the youngest.

Have said goodbye to family who have been here all day, they have been sent off with their presents and leftovers of dinner and desserts for tomorrow. Haven’t sat down for more than half an hour all day sorting food, drinks, food prep and clearing up, playing board games etc.
I have had a tidy up and put rubbish and recycling out. Tidied up presents and taken them upstairs or in neat piles. Emptied and refilled dishwasher and washed the glasses. DH and I have made turkey sandwiches and some cheese and biscuits for us and DDs. They are drinking some wine and I am having a cup of tea. We are now watching a film. I do love hosting and the happy chaos of family and children but also love it when it’s just us and we can change into comfy clothes and relax.

We’re watching my 3 year old play the drums her uncle so lovingly gifted her today. She was supposed to be in bed half an hour ago but he also gave her a glass of full sugar coke (??!?!!!?!!?) at 7pm so she’s absolutely wired. My parents look like they might keel over any second. My son has put his airpods in stealthily. DH has ‘gone to do the washing up’. BIL (drum purchaser) left half an hour ago ‘because he had a headache’. I’m going to open another bottle of wine and plot how to get rid of the drums before she wakes up tomorrow.

Cheeseboard is coming up to temp. The christmas puzzle is being finished. Lots of pop quizzing has been done. Wine on the go. Kids milling about, dipping in and out. Couldn't actually be more idyllic.

Very different to some Christmas days we've had previous and I much prefer this one to all others. Happy days. 😊

I don’t have any close family any more and third wheeling at a friend’s house actually makes me feel worse for some reason, so I drove to the Lakes, climbed a fell, drove back, and made myself a nice tea (M&S sous vide lamb shoulder with accompaniments). Now I’m tucking into a bowl of Harrods Xmas pudding and custard, and will later head to bed for a read.

Quiet here. I have an injury so am resting, saw my people earlier. I don't really get excited about christmas anymore.

DP watching something on his Laptop. I've just poured a drink and waiting for Call The Midwife to start.

Drinking Baileys and watching Bake-Off

We're home (were at my parents' house for Christmas dinner), MIL is alternating between reading her eBook and catching up on messages on social media from friends and family, DH is in the kitchen gluing together some incomprehensibly fiddly model kit, DS is upstairs playing on his gaming PC with some new kit he got for Christmas and I'm on the sofa with the dogs mooching about on here and trying to keep them out of the chocolates. There's cheese and crackers and Christmas cake set out in the kitchen for anyone who wants it so people can just graze as and when.

Also, I've decided Baileys is officially too sweet for me these days. Has it got sweeter or is it just me?

I did this mistake with my own nephew, in my defence I was just 18y.o. I thought my sister would kill me. The drum was miraculously lost after a few days. 😀

The kids are playing with their new toys but I think they’ll be off to bed soon after waking at 5am. DH is out working for a few hours and I am chilling with a Baileys and playing animal crossing. I will head to bed soon and have a read.

We’ve just finished a game of Ransom Notes, now we’re watching Amadeus (the Tom Hulse version) in various horizontal poses all over the living room, like pythons digesting goats.

Everyone who isn’t staying the night left at about 7.30, we’ve all had a quick disco nap watching the end of Home Alone 2. Just sent DC off to bed, won’t be too far behind as I’ve already got a headache.
Lovely day despite some passive aggressive nonsense from MIL, however glad to be heading towards normal from tomorrow

My hubby and son are having a game of chess, I'm laying on the couch with my sons new taco blanket nursing a sore throat, the dog is flat out after eating too much and gladiators is on in the background.
We are trying to stay awake for 'Stranger Things being released on netflix at 1am, not sure I can make it!

No he hasn’t - but he’s far older than 18! He’s 36 and knows that she’s absolutely mental! I have a sneaking suspicion he did it on purpose but since it’s Christmas I have just smiled through it

DD2(3) is asleep. DD1(6) is just finishing her hot chocolate in her new colour-changing mug and then is also off to bed. She and DH just finished a session of her new game Minecraft Dungeons on the Switch. DH and I going to try play a game ourselves before we crash out once she’s in bed. I’ve just had a bath and am in my new PJs. DDog is fast asleep!

Our small child is the light of our life after going through so much IVF to have him...
However I'm very tired after being at in-laws all day and I really wish he would go to sleep so we can just relax for 30mins on the sofa 😴 He's absolutely exhausted but struggling to go off, prob from all the excitement of the day etc.

Been at the in laws in Manchester all day. Just got in, showered and sat down in front of the telly. Ds2 gone to his room to message GF, DH on the red wine, DS1 munching cheese and crackers next to me and I’m on here and channel surfing. Had a really lovely Xmas. DS1 works away a lot and DS2 will be heading back to uni early Jan so days like this are precious.

Everybody has recently left (parents & in laws) so DH is in the kitchen watching something on TV and eating cheese, teens have retreated to their rooms and I’m giving my new LED face mask a whirl!

@Gliblet Baileys is very sweet now. Try Tobago chocolate rum, much nicer.

We're watching it first thing tomorrow morning and having a pyjama day. Listening to music and eating chocolates right now with cat on my lap.
