We get Sainsbo. Every year l viw to change it because every year the Xmas food delivery has half of the items not available.

Whereas Dss gets Waitrose. They got it all.

Mine came from Sainsbury's. Nothing vital was subbed, though some things were. As ever, it's store-dependent. I've never had much (if anything) missing from there over the years.

Crunchymum · 23/12/2025 20:22

My Sainsburys is coming tomorrow.

To be honest I already have everything for dinner barring the veg, but I did pop another small turkey in my basket today as I'll roast it for sandwiches. Tomorrow I am expecting all the soft drinks, crisps and nibbles, salad stuff, dips and veg and ham though so we'll see what appears.

ShawnaMacallister · 23/12/2025 20:24

Waitrose order the stock to match the online orders apparently, but you can't make changes after a certain date. Other supermarkets just pack what they have on the shelves.

I use Ocado, nothing missing.

Ahhhhh l understand. Waitrose it is!

Our Sainsbury is a huge city superstore. So lots of people in there.

Ocado here, 1 item subbed which was cranberry sauce and 1 item missing which was sticky toffee cashews. Both were added very close to the cut off. Never had a big problem with subs with them.

Gliblet · 23/12/2025 20:45

I gave up on Asda completely the year I'd broken my knee and physically could not go and do my own shopping. I hadn't even ordered a Christmas feast with lots of fancy items because I was in no condition to host and couldn't travel anywhere either. It was our usual regular delivery of properly bog standard staples and a few bits of party food as a consolation to eat while watching films. They didn't even deliver. 'Unforeseen demand'. I fucking foresaw it you lackwitted numpties.

Moltenpink · 23/12/2025 20:46

Get ocado or Morrisons next year, they come from warehouses with proper stock checking.

RedPanda2022 · 23/12/2025 21:02

Tesco just came - we got all but one item which was just some shampoo. Found them reliable the last few years.

user593 · 23/12/2025 21:04

I was missing a few items from Ocado but nothing critical, but they packed my very expensive and fragile dessert sideways and it leaked everywhere 😫 so I’m going to have to go to the shops tomorrow after all.

Greenpeanutsnail · 23/12/2025 21:07

I had everything in my Tesco order. I have an (unproven) theory that booking earlier in the day increases your chances of success.

BotterMon · 23/12/2025 21:11

Ocado here and 2 missing items and one sub. Bit annoying as one missing was a whole camembert which was going to be oven baked for dipping.

Only did a small order as we're out tomorrow, Christmas and Boxing day so not a disaster.

What is annoying is my usual weekly order is on a Thursday so I'm buggered this week and next and will have to go to a shop which I hate.

RudolphTheReindeer · 23/12/2025 21:15

I've found Tesco reliable too. I also book an early in the day delivery so it's probably picked before it's even open.

onceagainforrose · 23/12/2025 21:16

Ocado substituted a nice cheddar for a nice cheddar. Otherwise everything came.

purplecorkheart · 23/12/2025 21:18

Tescos yesterday and everything arrived. I don't do Christmas Dinner order however.

Clefable · 23/12/2025 21:18

We only had two subs from Tesco and both fine, but I buy our Christmas Day meat etc from the butcher so our order was mainly party type food, veg, snacks and drinks etc

Snackpocket · 23/12/2025 21:24

My Sainsbury’s order was missing nothing. Two sensible substitutions, one less so but not important.

gogomomo2 · 23/12/2025 21:32

If you want to be sure (as close as there is such a thing) order all your non perishables for delivery in early December, do a Christmas to order for key items like the turkey to collect on 23rd (they are pre ordered) and book a 22nd December for perishables giving you the chance to collect with the turkey any missing bits

OneFootAfterTheOther · 23/12/2025 21:36

Ocado, no subs nothing missing.

Oh is that right?

Topbird29 · 23/12/2025 21:43

Had tesco yesterday and eas fine - although turkey crown was locked in by 14th Dec, and did most of other shopping piecemeal (xmas pud etc), pigs in blankets and stuffing and duck have been in freezer for a month. Got most of veg veg delivered Saturday on a different Tesco order (potatoes, parsnips, carrots) as not kept too long before use. To be honest tesco have been quite reliable over last few years.

FurForksSake · 23/12/2025 21:43

Ocado and Morrisons here. I had Ocado Friday evening for offers (not on over Christmas), a last minute Morrisons was ordered 48 hours before it came yesterday, and today Ocado’s came with the last cold bits, ordered well in advance.

only thing missing was some M&S maple butter I wanted.

Ocado and Morrisons are great as they don’t pick from store so substitutes are much less common.

SiobahnRoy · 23/12/2025 21:44

Ocado, a frivolous unnecessary chutney missing but everything else was delivered.

Makes sense if you think about it. Shopping picked before lots of physical customers have cleared the shelves (shelf stacking won’t happen at the same rate during the day as at night)

The one time I booked an evening delivery, I had almost a full page of subs. Learnt my lesson that year and now book the first slot of the day. Very rarely get a sub and what is subbed is sensible.

TheChicDreamer · 23/12/2025 21:46

Waitrose here. Two subs but one we were allowed to keep and have refunded because it was a bit disappointing.

It was delivered early this morning and I could make changes until 9pm last night 🤷‍♀️
