Took the tag off a clothing item by snapping the kimble tag. Can I reattach? How?

I bought a new coat.

I removed the price tag by snapping the kimble tag (the plastic thing that attached the price tag to the item).

But now I want to return the coat.

How can I fudge reattaching the price tag?

I still have both halves of the kimble tag. I don't think I can superglue them together because the surface area is so tiny.

Any other suggestions?

I don't fancy chancing my arm returning it with the price tag separate in case they say "no".

Having attached.any thousands, you need a Kimble gun or you won't manage it.

If the coat is expensive, it's worth looking on the internet for one.

PowerPuffGirdle · 16/12/2025 12:01

@JingleAllTheWayToBed Bollocks 😩

The coat wasn't expensive but I don't want to just write off the cost. I could really do with returning it and getting a refund.

I would just return it with the tag - they can soon reattach it for re sale.

What are the chances of getting a refund if I do this, do you reckon? It's Primark.

I've worn the coat once for an hour at the pub. It doesn't look or smell worn.

I would not want to buy the coat that you wore to the pub and then returned

DemBonesDemBones · 16/12/2025 12:13

You can’t return a coat you’ve worn! What the hell?!

Me neither. If you have worn it outside the house, even for an hour, you can't return it. And let's be honest. Who goes to the pub for one hour?

bigredboat · 16/12/2025 12:14

You can buy a micro stitch gun on amazon for about £10

PowerPuffGirdle · 16/12/2025 12:19

I wasn't planning to announce that I'd worn it to the pub when I returned it 😂

I didn't wear it in the pub, I wore it to walk there and back. It doesn't look or smell worn at all.

@saveforthat And let's be honest. Who goes to the pub for one hour? 👋Me. I hate pubs, but a bunch of friends were getting together for a couple of Christmas drinks. I stuck my head in to be sociable and left after two drinks.

You’ve worn it, it’s yours.

Frogbear · 16/12/2025 12:21

Seriously? Your OP made it sound like you changed your mind as soon as you took the tag off.

Not that you wore it out and no longer want it.

That is CFery OP. Can’t believe you’re even posting for advice on how to do it.

Summerishere123 · 16/12/2025 12:32

MY son did this with school trousers before checking they fit. M&S took it back no problem.

IsoldeWagner · 16/12/2025 12:35

You've worn it. It's yours, please don't take it back.

Homegrownberries · 16/12/2025 12:38

I know you didn't ask but YABU.

Hufflebuffs · 16/12/2025 12:40

Talk about a drip feed. You can’t return something you have worn to the pub 🙄

Wore them to the pub?

Hopefully they won’t accept it, it’s been worn!

Funnywonder · 16/12/2025 12:42

You just don’t do this. Can’t help but think you’re on the wind up OP.

cannynotsay · 16/12/2025 12:42

Just so you know if it’s been worn most times they can tell. We don’t refund work items,

Pancakeflipper · 16/12/2025 12:44

Is this a regular trick of yours to buy clothing and return it after wearing it?

I had a Saturday job years ago and cheeky returners were easiy to spot.

TheHouseElf · 16/12/2025 12:46

So you've worn it, and so its no longer 'new' but you want to take it back and pretend you haven't, to get a refund.
Then some poor unsuspecting person comes along and re-buys it thinking its new.
Really shabby behaviour OP.

I bet they are! There was a woman on an other thread who bought an outfit to wear to an interview and returned it the next day! Massive CF. When she was called out on it she said "I only wore it to an interview" 🙄

No, not at all.

If it was a regular trick, I'd have a kimble gun and wouldn't have started the thread

gerispringer · 16/12/2025 12:50

You could tie it with invisible thread which is basically clear plastic. But it’s from Primark. Is it worth it?

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 16/12/2025 12:51

Shops are a real pain about this. I tried to return underwear as it became uncomfortable halfway through my marathon but they refused even when I kicked up a fuss.
