DD is back from uni and she's asked to watch the whole Friends series together over her holidays.
I honestly haven't watched any of them since the first time round, but the one scene that stuck in my mind is this one...

My favourite has to be Rachel’s birthday party where they are trying to keep her mum and dad separate and have to dance across the hallway and so on, just such a funny episode and really well timed

hardtocare · 13/12/2025 13:56

I’m so glad we’re about to have all the sex

franke · 13/12/2025 13:57

All of these.

I really liked the scene where Rachel takes a pregnancy test at Monica's wedding and Phoebe lies and tells her it's negative.

Any scene with Monica and Ross's parents in it. "You knew about this."

DevilsIvyy · 13/12/2025 13:58

My sandwich!!!!!

Vetoncall · 13/12/2025 14:14

My favourite scenes are mostly Ross, I think David Schwimmer played the character brilliantly - pivot, the leather trousers, the spray tan, 'I'M FINE' (that whole episode), 'did you count Mississippilly?' etc. The New Year's Eve TV show dance routine and Midnight Mystery Kisser scenes with Monica were gold too 😂

Snorlaxo · 13/12/2025 14:17

Pivot
MY SANDWICH?
The teeth whitening
The fake tan
Chandler and Joey getting rid of Joey’s new roommate

Bowup · 13/12/2025 14:20

Ross and the fake tan
Ross and his teeth 🤣

StabbyCat · 13/12/2025 14:22

Joey trying to speak French.

Bobje · 13/12/2025 14:23

@Vetoncall David Schwimmer as Ross is my favourite too (you might have already guessed that as all my scenes mentioned are Ross related!)
I married a Ross type (not Russ! 😂) he's tall and dark and goofy but is actually a professor (not of dinosaurs though!)
I was also working as a waitress whilst studying at uni when we met 😉

Agree, he was very good at using his body in his comedy too.

Treeper22 · 13/12/2025 14:27

Also, the one where Joey encourages Ross to hit him, then he ducks and Ross injures his hand on the post behind. Later there's a brilliant scene where Joey ends up punching Ross. So well set up.

I watch too much Friends 😆

Any scene with Richard in it. I'd have dumped Chandler for Richard in a heartbeat if I was Monica.

Monica should have ended up with Richard.
And Chandler should have married Janice!
But agree with PP who said the scene where Chandler tries to break up with Janice is hilarious, especially as Phoebe was simultaneously breaking up with one of her bf behind them and it took all of ten seconds 😄

I loved Hugh Laurie on the plane to London.

When Monica comes out from under Chandler's duvet was a genuine gasp of surprise.

On about my 6th watch of the show, I started to really appreciate a lot of Ross's comedy.

Globules · 13/12/2025 14:30

I LOVE JACQUES COUSTEAU

Vanillalime · 13/12/2025 14:31

I love the scene where Chandler & Monica are taking a secret bath, Joey walks in and Monica hides underwater. Joey asks if he wants any food and Chandler orders chicken, fries & coke & then his body contorts & he changes it to a Diet Coke! Cracks me up every time.

Fave episode is the prom video, I cry every time.

Twynklebell · 13/12/2025 14:31

The scene with Rachel describing her first kiss with Ross in great detail and tenderness.. cut to the boys.. 'Tongue?'

Fallulah · 13/12/2025 14:41

They did build ups so well -
The one where Ross and Rachel have fallen out and he phones the radio show, and we think she’s gone to call him but she’s actually called the show to tell them what he did.

Any of the ones that involve chasing people to airports.

I too would have slept with Richard in a heartbeat.

I didn’t like Emily. I know you’re not supposed to but I didn’t like the actress when she was in Cold Feet either!

David Schwimmer was the biggest "star" when everyone was cast. Not really famous, but an established actor.

Ross in the spray tan booth

That scene annoys me so much!! Even if you weren’t a professor, how can he not follow simple instructions?? Or there’s no light on the back wall, just stand there and wait for it!! 🤣

Crinkle77 · 13/12/2025 14:59

ConnieHeart · 13/12/2025 13:17

Fantastic whole episode 🤣

That is the best episode ever. My eyes, my eyes!!! Cracks me up every time.

God, too many to choose from, but definitely a hilarious one, not one of the poignant or romantic scenes! Maybe when Chandler comes home to find Joey locked in a cupboard and all their furniture stolen!

Joey: If I ever run into that guy again do you know what I’m gonna do?
Chandler: Bend over!!

Best line ever.

Missymarple · 13/12/2025 15:29

I really loathed Ross in the first series or so, it felt like they were trying to make him more of a dramatic lead but he just came across as whiney and controlling. Once they started writing the humour into him, he became comedy gold. Pivot is one of my absolute favourites but I'm a huge fan of any scene with Jack and Judy 'That's a lot of information to get in 30 seconds'

MeAndMyGhost · 13/12/2025 15:36

Strokethefurrywall · 13/12/2025 12:48

Oh man so many of them, but my funniest is when Ross is playing Celebrations on the bagpipes and Phoebe tries to join in - still cracks me up years later!
And when we learn that Ross was in fact Monica’s midnight mystery kisser and her first kiss ever.

Following on from this:

"Why is your family Scottish?"
"Why is YOUR family Ross?"

I watched the Unagi episode last, the way he skips into the self defence class right at the end 😅 And in the episode with Paul in the log cabin and he drops from behind the door 😂

PlazaAthenee · 13/12/2025 15:38

"That is brand new information!".

And Janice being wheeled into the labour ward in front of Rachel.
