Shocked by work colleague - take the piss Friday!

I was at work today and I was getting a few teams chat messages from a colleague. Basically saying she regarded it as take the loss Friday because less people were around and less meetings arranged- she was not working. She said she had order her food shop to be delivered and was going to get her nails done. But would stay logged on in case anything came up! Her Manager does not work a Friday. I feel conflicted she is a nice colleague but she is taking the pee! I feel like I should report it? But the. She would know it was me?

Really. Can’t fathom people like you.

Go ahead. She’ll tell everyone. See what happens then 👍

Ha.

The lazy fucker will more than likely have been put on a disciplinary and / or rightfully be sacked!

I mean, how stupid is she to post it on Teams and provide evidence! 🤦‍♂️😂

OP is free of any wrongdoing here - she is only the recipient of the CF colleagues unsolicited message.

Are you serious? Thats not even a proper doss, an hour out for her nails, most of which could be lunch, and what, 10 minutes taking the shopping in?
You need to keep your eye on what the outcome lf dobbing her in would actually be, rather than what you think it should be.

I have already commented suggesting you mind your own business unless her behaviour is impacting your own work.

I wanted to add: what do you think you would achieve by reporting her anyway?

  • your manager won't thank you...they will just see you as a busy-body adding to their workload
  • your colleagues will find out that you reported that person for something trivial and it will affect their perception of your trustworthiness and how they behave towards you.
