Mine was - what an absolute pillock!
We were on a works do in NYC.
Not the same company.
He was buying rounds like he was old Rockefeller 🙄
Turns out he was the company accounts holder.
This was coming up to 30 years ago now.

I met him online so the first time I saw him in person I was worried about him being a psychopath or something!

I didn’t like him because he didn’t take his sunglasses off, but he was a nice guy so I saw him again and we’ve been together over 10 years now.

It was a blind date, so I had no idea what he looked like, his age etc. I thought he was beautiful, far too beautiful for me. I was also incredibly weird and shy, he obviously liked a project or had a thing for weirdos.

My first husband was Spanish -looked like a more weather beaten Javier Bardem (even at 24 lol) alpha -hell raiser , boozer, very odd dress sense , aloof but funny and warm and a bit strange and intriguing- he didn’t speak English and I didn’t speak Spanish - 19 years together 4 kids - never really settled down into family life , bit hardest grafter and provider I’ve ever known in my peer group /working life - always had a wild streak but a lovely, lovely man and great if not unconventional dad to the kids who love him to pieces

My second husband very tall, silver hair from bout 31, socially awkward, geeky, bespectacled, high earning, misfit IT guy. But same as my first husband comfy in own skin , knows who he is and very quietly confident, doesn’t worry one iota about people outside our sphere,
adores me and our 6 kids and is a great husband and dad while also being a bit of a weirdo like the first one.

I do love an odd bod

first impressions of 1st husband - attraction but wary as I thought out my league - which he was at that age in a coolness /attractiveness sense so sort of chuffed when we started going out

first impression of 2nd husband - I’m home now. This is where I belong.
