What was your first impression of your OH?

Mine was - what an absolute pillock!
We were on a works do in NYC.
Not the same company.
He was buying rounds like he was old Rockefeller 🙄
Turns out he was the company accounts holder.
This was coming up to 30 years ago now.

I didn’t really notice his looks but thought he was rude and very stressed and decided I’d give him a wide berth. He apparently thought I was pretty but annoyingly enthusiastic and perky.

Gorgeous. I was intrigued by him. He was really athletic and looked massive yet he had this really gentle demeanour and was so softly spoken. Very quiet, reserved. I was hooked.

Funny, confident, centre-of-attention, dark hair and blue eyes. Just my type!

That he was really smiley and friendly.

Intimidating (size and demeanour), very intelligent, cold. Turned out he was actually intelligent, not intimidating and fusses over people he loves.

Now he sounds perfect!

God he's so handsome he would never look twice at me .

Dreadful haircut, terrible dress sense. However he had the most amazing smile and made me laugh.

We didn't take eyes off each other and as I was introduced I thought "I shall marry you". Then gave myself a pinch. Then danced many dances with him.

He called. We haven't really been apart since our second date - 37 years ago!

So handsome! Good conversation and he actually listens!

I was on a residential course and was was mildly irritated that he walked in front of my last photo on a film just as I was taking it.

Everyone was strangers and camping so rather flung together in the evenings. The others all thought he was good fun, but I spent time with other people... Twelve months later I pitched my tent next to his and the rest is history.

He had shoulder-length, thick, dark, wavy hair. He was also quite shy. 48 years later, only his hair is different.

Lol dreadful, I thought he was an arrogant arsehole. People make fun of us saying he was my Mr. Darcy.

That he was gorgeous. I went bright red! I still think that 15 years on

I was sort of committed to another guy when I met my DH. I remember him being very good-looking and was apparently writing a science fiction novel. I think he said that to impress me! Anyway, he suddenly announced that he was leaving his work and I very much got on board.

That was 1995 and we’re now married with two adult children and two cats, and we all adore each other still.

Fancied the pants off him- we also liked the same music/bands so didn't stop talking (and drinking- was happy hour after work) never been apart since.

Out with my then mate in 1993, she'd known him since she was small as they grew up in the same village. He was over confident, cocky and annoying, constantly asking me out the following weekend. I told my mate I wasn't keen, she said he was ok.
We went out the following weekend in the August and the rest is history! Married in January 1995, still together.
As an aside, another friend had dragged me to a psychic fair in a pub in the June. The clairvoyant told me I'd meet someone who -
a) wore a uniform
b) drove for a living
c) would be older than me
I'd just come out of a relationship in the May and was really not up for another one. Turns out my now husband was in the Army, a HGV driver and is 10 years older than me! With the first two, I'd convinced myself it would be an ambulance driver from work!!! Wrong!

Taller than me, thankfully - I'm 5'10" - lovely curly hair, broad shoulders, very quiet and a bit shy. He looked a little unkempt in an attractive way, as if he just needed the right person to look after him. That was me, of course.

We'd been chatting over the internet for a while, then we finally met. He came to my city, about an hour's drive away, to meet me, which was a big plus.

I thought he was really nice, he thought I was really nice, we have hardly been apart since then. Over 19 years ago.
