The homepage of my phone has always just had a photo of my dogs with the current date on (in English)...however, this morning it has an Islamic text on. I attach a photo. How has this happened? I've had the phone for ages and no one else has had access to it.

Low level sniping. Accusing OP of being less than honest. Just unnecessary nastiness from you.

And yet they have been allowed to continue snipping on other threads despite multiple deletions here. Once I had two deletions and was banned for three days, MN seems to encourage this sort of poster these days.

Perhaps it's a bit obfuscating, in terms of triggering the phobes on here, to see this as an Islamic text, when actually it is a language setting and it has been set to Arabic.

Can’t see any text?

I just showed this thread to my DP who is Persian and asked him what could anyone could possibly think is racist about it?! (I’m guessing that’s what deleted posts were implying?)

He’s experienced a huge amount of racism since living in the uk, 3 incidents resulting in convictions and several verbal or physical assaults.
He is very aware of any perceived racism but he also knows it’s a small minority and he actually gets fed up of people trying to defend him from perceived prejudice when it’s actually someone just being curious and asking questions or making a joke.
He told me when we first met racism is only ever about the intent - it’s a good thing because I’ve raised a lot of eyebrows with some of the things I’ve teased him about in front of other people 😂.

He said if anyone sees the OP as being a snide way to be racist then they are looking too hard to find offence and they are the people that end up being hurtful by constantly trying to stick up for someone who doesn’t need it and making them into a victim or making it clear they are different from everyone else.
It’s the people who don’t laugh at a joke when my DP is also laughing and pat him on the arm sympathetically and make a fuss about the joke. He said that’s when he really feels isolated and like he doesn’t fit in.

It’s like positive prejudice where people go so far the other way to try to be politically correct but instead make everyone walk on eggshells and eventually resent the person they are campaigning for who doesn’t even want the attention drawn to them or need a non existent battle fighting.

Something to think about…

Sorry for that little derailing rant and I didn’t even see the posts before they were deleted but this was just the perfect example of something that happens to my DP a lot and someone might think they are sticking up for him or being helpful when it’s just another reminder to him that they see him as an outsider of the group and leads him to think they must be constantly aware of it and looking for offence to “protect him” from.

I suspect that the op is thinking that her phone has been hacked by extreme Islamists?

This made me laugh, they would have to be the worlds worst hackers to accidentally leave evidence on the lock screen 🤣
