Something strange has happened to my phone (screenshot attached)

The homepage of my phone has always just had a photo of my dogs with the current date on (in English)...however, this morning it has an Islamic text on. I attach a photo. How has this happened? I've had the phone for ages and no one else has had access to it.

This has happened on my work Samsung phone, not the date - but this morning Home Screen says YANBU & I’m absolutely rubbish with geography, didn’t realise it was a place, & at first I was laughing away thinking it was telling me You Are Not Being Unreasonable. I think it must have something to do with the settings from an automatic apps update or something, I’m sure there’s a fix out there when I can get round to googling it. I’m an iPhone user at home & absolutely clueless with this Samsung

I would check to see if your Google account was hacked. I know when mine was hacked a few years ago, they had access to my calendar etc through Google. Worth a look. I don't save any of passwords on Google now because they got into all my saved accounts at the time. The security on phones is probably better now though. They're updating it all the time

One of our DDs managed to change DHs phone to Japanese text once when she was tiny. Everything changed to Japanese characters so we couldn’t even work out how to get to settings to change it back again. We had to find someone with the same phone to walk us through which options to choose, how far to scroll down etc. Quite amusing but he didn’t let her play with it again for some time 😁.
(will I be accused of trying to start a conspiracy against the good people of the Japanese archipelago, who knows? This place is batshit 🤷‍♀️)

I believe that most people would be at the very least surprised if this happened to them. That doesn't make them conspiracy theorists.

It has not happened to me, but thanks to the more sensible and measured answers on this thread I now know what to do or check if it should.

Did the first poster ever come back and explained what @Ihateboriswas hinting at? I've racked my brains but can't figure that one out?

Anyway, I agree, phones are bloody weird things. I find with mine if I hold onto it with a finger or thumb on the homescreen, the wee icons all move into a box with each other! God knows how that happens.

No idea why it came up but just a little correction - it looks like Latin text denoting something in the Arabic language. It could be something Christian, Jewish, Islamic or something non-religious.
With all the demonisation of Islam and the Arabic world in the media it’s easy to accidentally conflate anything like this with ‘Islamic’ and see a threat. With all the horrors the many Arabic communities have suffered in recent years (eg the Catholic Church in Gaza) it’s helpful to remember they exist.
