How often do you change clothes?

Inspired by the thread about what you wear when you're cooking... how often do you change clothes? I've just realised I do it a lot!!

So, get up, out of PJ's and into the shower. Then put on 'home clothes' - joggers and hoodie in the winter, shorts and t shirt in the summer. Then get kids up, do breakfast etc. Then get changed for work.

Home from work, change into home clothes. If I go out on the evening then I'll get changed again, then when I'm home either back into home clothes or into PJ's, then PJ's before bed.
That's 6 changes a day! Surely I'm not the only one?? Anyone wear the same clothes all day??

Mine goes PJs, home clothes, work clothes, pjs.

youalright · 29/11/2025 21:01

On non work days change out of pyjamas, normal clothes, then back in pyjamas. Work days change out of pyjamas, work clothes, normal clothes then pyjamas

reluctantbrit · 29/11/2025 21:01

I get up, dress for either wfh or for the office.

Unless we are off somewhere where I want wear something different or just want to shower before going I stay all day until I go to bed.

Aeons ago I had some more formal office wear, suit/skirt and jacket and that was then changed when I came home as it wasn't really comfortable enough to be comfortable on the sofa.
But now - more smart casual or jeans/cargos and no need to change anymore.

clareykb · 29/11/2025 21:01

Pjs, work clothes, home clothes if finished work at a reasonable hour..pjs.. things are busy enough for me in the morning without factoring in another change. However kids are older and work clothes smart casual...if I had to feed toddlers and then be in a suit and heels might do things differently.

Sarahatherwitsend · 29/11/2025 21:05

Pj's, dog walking clothes, work clothes, dog walking clothes, home clothes, pj's. In winter I might skip the home clothes and go straight to pj's

Sparklesandspandexgallore · 29/11/2025 21:05

On a work day I get up and put on work clothes. If I’m going to the gym I then change into gym clothes. Shower then put on my oodie or pjs on. I sleep naked so take those off for bed.
Non work days I often go to the gym first so gym clothes. Come home and shower. Put on another set of clothes. Change into oodie ( or longe clothes) take off for bed.
If I’m going out somewhere nice, I change again into posh clothes.

BoxingHares22 · 29/11/2025 21:07

I wear the same clothes all day until I get ready for bed.

SliceofTosst · 29/11/2025 21:11

Work clothes then change into pj's when I get home in the winter.

Silverbirchleaf · 29/11/2025 21:13

I’m similar to you op.

mildlysweaty · 29/11/2025 21:16

Never thought of this.

Sleep in knickers
dressing gown
pjs
workout clothes (home gym)
shower then wfh clothes
end of day shower then pjs
knickers

TheRealGoose · 29/11/2025 21:21

PJs =>, gym clothes => clothes for the day, =>pjs.

unless I’m going out socialising in the evening, then it’s clothes for the day, evening clothes, pjs.

BiddyPopthe2nd · 29/11/2025 21:23

PJs to work clothes, occasionally I change to comfy things if I get home early enough to be worth is, then back to PJs.

Some days, I need to change from work to formal evening event gear, then PJs.

At weekends, mostly the same - PJs to casual gear and back to PHs. With the occasional weekend where I go to an event in the evening so I get a bit more dressed up (for the theatre, a concert etc).

And very occasionally, I go for a swim at the weekend in the middle of the day - so from my casuals to swimwear and back again.

searchforthesun · 29/11/2025 21:23

Out of pj’s, shower then home clothes, school run/work/gym clothes, shower, home clothes, pj’s

TwooooDoooozenRoses · 29/11/2025 21:26

Get up, shower and dress, spend the day in those clothes, get naked and go to bed, simple 😂 I’m a SAHM.

Walkacrossthesand · 29/11/2025 21:30

As long as you don’t put every item in the wash after each wearing, it doesn’t really matter, does it? I change throughout the day for different activities, but clothes get washed when they need it, not because they’ve seen the light of day.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 29/11/2025 21:35

Get up, get dressed in clothes, bedtime is either PJs or just knickers. That's it.

If I exercise I'll put on leggings etc, and then either dressed for the day after showering or PJs if its after work.

YelramBob · 29/11/2025 21:38

Running kit
Work clothes
Gym kit
Pjs

Never really thought about it before! Although hot flushes mean work clothes may vary 🥵😨

nuttymut · 29/11/2025 21:44

I don’t wear PJs , I sleep naked . So it’s dog walking clothes , gym clothes , Jeans etc for the day until bed .

DappledThings · 29/11/2025 22:09

Pyjamas > whatever clothes I am wearing that day > pyjamas.

No additional changes. No way I could be arsed adding in extra clothes changes to the day.

Aparecium · 29/11/2025 22:17

Normally: PJs, the day’s clothes, PJs.

Maybe an additional change or two if I’m exercising or swimming or going to a party after work.

Iwantsandybeachesandgoodfood · 29/11/2025 22:17

T-shirt (that I sleep in), put on a dressing gown in the morning, shower, work clothes, shower, home clothes. If I’m working from home and haven’t had night sweats (perimenopausal) then I only shower once a day.

Tickingcrocodile · 29/11/2025 22:20

I get changed from pyjamas into work clothes then usually wear those all day until I put my pyjamas back on. I don't dress very formally for work though.

HostaCentral · 29/11/2025 22:32

No clothes at night, one set of clothes for the day. Very simple.

Helpmechooseausername · 29/11/2025 22:39

Glad it's not just me that gets changed loads! I've never given it a second thought before!

It’s making me dizzy just reading some of these 🥴

running/gym clothes
WFH clothes or office clothes
PJs as soon as I finish work (removed to get into bed)
