The biggest frustration for me is running. I just cannot run, I've tried so many times. It's just too hard, too uncomfortable and boring boring boring. Yet running clubs seem like such a good way to interact with a community.

Cycling, same as above. I HATE it.

Gardening. What a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon, pottering about planting flowers and growing your own vegetables in your very own garden. Unfortunately I hate gardening. It gives me backache and my hands aren't strong enough.

Feel free to add on...

Gardening. I've never really tried but it does seem like hard work & I don't like getting my hands dirty

Tennis - far too technical & too much running around

ConnieHeart · 28/11/2025 20:36

Sushi

Open watr swimming (in Britain). Somewhere warm, great, I'll stay in the lake or ocean water for hours. But in UK.... brrrrrrrrrr !! I hate being cold.

The lord of the rings trilogy

Interior design. It just doesn’t interest me at all. Never has. I don’t have a creative cell in my body. Shopping for soft furnishings, decor, lighting, bed linen, whatever is my idea of utter tedium, and life is far too short for that. Unfortunately, DP is exactly the same. Not interested, doesn’t care. Therefore we live in the most un-stylish house you can possibly imagine. We could employ someone but that would cost money which could be much better spent on another holiday.

Oblomov25 · 28/11/2025 22:16

Any sort of exercise.
Going out in the rain. Or cold. I don't do cold, eg lake swimming.

princesspeppax · 28/11/2025 22:20

Wine. Tried multiple over the years, just cant get into it

ProfessorRedshoeblueshoe · 28/11/2025 22:31

Flying. I hate heights. I have flown, but i don't think I can again, and there's so many places I'd like to see.
Knitting in the round - I have tried and I just can't do it. I would love to make a fabulous Scandi jumper

KilliMonjaro · 28/11/2025 22:32

Strictly. I just don’t care.

SpottyAardvark · 28/11/2025 22:34

Jazz. I have fairly broad musical taste, anything from Metallica to Mozart, but I just can’t get on with jazz. I know it’s supposed to be cool & clever & sophisticated etc etc, but to me it’s just music without the tunes.

Breaking Bad is really good - maybe you have to be in the right sort of mood. Though if you watched the whole first episode, maybe it just isn't for you. I seem to remember it did take a while to get into it, but then I just binge watched it all in a few days.

Yes you have to hover it a chance. Say 3 episodes.

leafygreensies · 28/11/2025 22:39

Doing the bloody washing up

Boopear · 28/11/2025 22:39

Gaming.

I always think it is something I should love (v techy and love puzzles) but no matter which game I’ve tried none of them seem to hold my interest. I really don’t know why and it is rather annoying!

Oh, and opera. Love ballet but opera just doesn’t work for me at all.

DilemmaDelilah · 28/11/2025 22:40

Exercise. I need to do it, but I haven't ever done proper exercise and now I can't. I still need to do it though, so I just do a bit of swimming.

PuppyMonkey · 28/11/2025 22:42

Gravy.

Ruins food.

UnderThePressure · 28/11/2025 22:50

Crochet and knitting, I'm quite fancy with a needle and thread and a piece of fabric, but can't decipher instructions for anything wool based!
Listen to a podcast; too long and waffly.
Cooking, I can cook and bake and not burn anything so I have basic technique, but I can't seem to make things taste flavoursome and "up a level".

Religion, both traditional and also - perhaps especially - anything evangelical or new-agey. It always feels like such a tight and supportive community, but you have to genuinely believe to belong.

You don’t have to believe. Did you know that over 30% of British Jews don’t believe in a God?

Or that 28% of British Christians don’t believe in any spiritual power?

I have always exercised a lot but agree with running. I find it even worse on the treadmill.
Knitting, can’t do it.
Takeaways, probably for the best, but mostly i think they are just awful.

EchoedSilence · 28/11/2025 23:06

Sourdough anything. Brioche was bad enough but sourdough can fuck off.

Fontet · 28/11/2025 23:12

Crochet

FourChimneys · 28/11/2025 23:13

Crotchet.

My tax return. I pay a lovely accountant to do it but should probably be able to do it myself.

Nordic walking. Friends swear by it but those sticks just annoy me.
