Yes - the top crust is definitely the best bit!

I used to cut them up like that for children.
It just made it easier for them to eat.

Aside from the completely unacceptable cutting pattern, the way it’s been badly hacked with a blunt knife also makes it look dry and unappealing 😬

Definitely weird and especially so for eating the crust piece first. Crust is always last so it can be truly savoured.

I follow the same eating pattern as you, but don't cut the sandwich at all. Just eat all the edges, then get to enjoy the good bit in the middle. Much easier.

My BIL is the sandwich heathen in our family, as he cuts crust to base, much to my sister's (a self confessed sandwich snob) disgust, this however is next level and I think even he would draw the line at that.

I cut mine into 4 triangles to avoid the corner crusts which I hate - so basically your cutting has completely missed the point!

I haven't seen a sandwich cut like this before but now that I have I am completely on board with your order of eating, it makes total sense to me. As I'm writing that, I realise that this is exactly how I cut my portion of lasagne to eat, except each part gets cut into smaller bite size pieces as I go along. So I'll join your weird club.
