I am very curious about this.. because l read that some women who are the same height and weight as me.. say they are a much smaller dress size.. l know different stores etc vary ..
I am 5ft 7 ..l was 20 stone last year and a size 28.. ( l do have large breasts) l have lost 5 stone (15 st) and now a size 20.. but l keep seeing on the net in mounjaro groups etc .. that people of my height and weight are saying they are a size 16...
When l was younger l was always around 9st to 9 and half and size 12...only put a stone on with both daughters and soon lost it.
Age 38 had a total hysterectomy and went to 12 stone size 14 and stayed there for years until my accident and broke both hips and pelvis 12 years ago and the weight went on and on.
With mounjaro ive lost 5 stone and can now have my new hip. I'm age 67 ( well will be this Friday) .

78-79kg. 5’10”/178cm. Size 8/10/12 depending on brand and whether it’s top or bottom (broad shoulders and large ish chest so can be a). As pp have said, this totally depends on body composition.

5’6, 62kg size 8-10. XS in Zara.

I was 94kg earlier this year and a size 16. XL in Zara.

Since I lost weight in my 50s my arse has completely disappeared. I’m quite heavy boned so I do look on the slim side at this weight.

In my 20s I was a size 10-12 at half a stone less, so there is definitely a touch of ‘vanity sizing’ here.

It’s funny because I’m 5ft 6 and 60 kilo and I’m definitely still 10 and sometimes 12. Never an 8, unless it’s Oliver Bonas and everyone is a size 6-8 there.

I will say that vanity sizing is absolutely mental - I have jeans I bought ten years ago, size 16 that are tight on me - but I bought some the other day, size 14, and they're too big. Forty years ago I'd be an 18 and would have been off the charts at my highest weight!

Vanity sizing or just crappy quality/consistency?

I could try 2 pairs of jeans from Zara today and find the 16 is too small in one and the 14 is too big in the other!

I'm recently back in a 14 and all my 14s I kept from 10-15 years ago fit me again. Some even older than that.

Sogrownup3 · 28/11/2025 03:56

5 foot 7, 12st6 , size 12 sometimes a 14
Ive always been heavy for my size and don't wear clothes tight.
it's bonkers how weight/ size differs

Exactly the same!

A quick reflection about height, weight and clothes size:

In all the weight loss features I've read, average height women seem to drop a dress size for each stone/14lbs lost.

Being extra tall means that the difference between clothes sizes for me is 1.5 stone/21lbs.
