Hungryhippos123 · 22/11/2025 07:46

DH has asked for this for christmas

He works in a trendy office and wants a coffee cup (small ish one not massive) for coffee on the go. I’ve seen lots contigo, Stanley, moon etc but I want one that looks and feels nice as well as being functional. He won’t need it to keep stuff hot for 10 hours just for a bit longer on trains etc. any recs welcome!

I have one of these for flat white size. It doesn’t spill, keeps my coffee warm and gets lots of admiration!

Have you looked at SHO?

ChocolateHazlenutButter · 22/11/2025 07:50

I have a yeti cup which is great and I think they look nice. Mine is pale turquoise and my man has an orange one.

What’s your taste and what would make you feel it looks nice or not?

I second Yeti. They are lovely and come in a range of sizes

I love my Yeti coffee cup. Keep my coffee hot and doesn’t leak. Also easy to clean the lid . There are different sizes and lids plus beautiful colours. I went for the smaller sizer so it fits in my handbag

I have one of these. Good size, lovely colours, keeps coffee hot for a good few hours. Pricey but it’s the best one I’ve ever had - no leaks, ever!

I have one exactly like this that I bought at a food festival. It isn't branded but looks exactly the same. It looks like it was made by the same manufacturer.

It is excellent and keeps drinks properly hot for several hours. It is perfect for travelling because it is leak proof and I can put it in my handbag while handling luggage on and off trains.

It depends what he finds aesthetically pleasing, but I like the Stanley Aerolight. I have a Yeti one but it’s huge, and the lid that came with it isn’t leakproof which is great for drinking in the car because the magnetic slider is easy to open but you can’t sling it in a bag. I know they have a leakproof lid available but haven’t tested it. I’m probably a bit biased thinking it’s ugly because mine is black and has DH’s work logo on it because he got it from work and I use it, but I still think the Stanley is prettier. If I were buying purely practically I’d buy a Zojirushi one

We have these (Smash), which are cheap but really work. I wouldn’t sling a full mug into my handbag but there’s no problem locking it and caring the dregs around. Keeps coffee hot for ages.

I love my corksicle https://amzn.eu/d/8NfJbj4 be warned, the small ones are only really flat white/americano size, so get a big one if you like a bigger coffee

I’ve got a yeti one and it’s great as well as beautiful. It’s the only travel cup I have that can go in the dishwasher so that makes it my absolute favourite.

Slothisavirtue · 22/11/2025 08:42

I was going to suggest my lovely Moomins coffee cup from Next but that might not be his vibe Grin
I get a lot of compliments on it at work though ...

I've been through so many coffee cups and this is my favourite. Easy to clean, keeps hot long enough, right size, taper means it fits in any cup holder and any hand.

You can get Yeti cups personalised on the Yeti site. I had one with my husband's nickname and a bear on it. You can design it with AI assistance.

I have a bru-cup - really doesn’t leak, I think quite pleasing to eye and ceramic lined so coffee tastes better Bru-cup

I second Bru, the travel cups are fully leak proof if thenlid is on properly, the reusable cups aren't leak proof (but are still lovely). The best part for me is that they are fully sealed so easy to wash and ceramic inside so they don't hold on to coffee flavours like plastic does and so can be used for tea/ herbal tea as well.

Fits an aeropress too.

Can you open these with your lip or tongue? I need a new mug to use when I'm mucking out and my hands are covered in horse shit/pee. Most travel mugs you need to use a hand to push something and it doesn't appeal.

TheCurious0range · 22/11/2025 12:57

I think the contigo luxe in stainless steel is nice, very sleek. Also leakproof, dishwasher safe and keeps drinks hot

The Bru travel mug has a click top that you can push with your chin! I use mine when I'm gardening and don't want to contaminate my coffee. It's great because when it's clicked shut it's leak proof and the angle of the lip means even if it falls over it is still hygienic (obvs that depends how deep whatever it falls onto is!)
