How many countries have you been to Europe

As long as I can remember, I have had a life long goal to visit every country in Europe.

It is a slow process. I am 41 and so far I have visited 27 out of 44.

Slowly ticking then off. Like a lot of us I dont get a lot of annual leave a year.

How many have you been to?

England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Turkey, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Cyprus and have Croatia booked and looking at Belgium. Would like to do them all!

If including traveling through, then most. I haven’t been to San Marino. I also haven’t been to the Canary Islands, Cyprus or Malta. I’ve ‘officially’ been to Moldova, but it was Transnistria (a weird place).

37 in Europe and 62 in total.

UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy. Sweden , Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg. Vatican City, Czechia, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Monaco, Greece.

France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Vatican City… and disappointingly that is it. I’ve not been to any other UK countries other than England either which is shocking, but as I have lived abroad for the last 10 years I don’t give myself too hard a time for that one. It will be corrected soon I hope!

I’ve been to Transnistria! We had to bribe the police to get out - very weird place!
I got a bit concerned leaving Transnistria and going into the Ukraine. There was a really uneasy atmosphere when border control came on the minibus. Me and my mate were the only two foreigns in the bus and had to get off. I felt sick but at the end they cracked a joke and told us not to worry. NB I still worried!

Ive also been to Georgia and Turkey. I think they are geographically in Europe! I know Georgia is desperate to be in the EU.

I had an international job for a while which helped.

One thing I've noticed away from this thread is a lot of northerners haven't been to France but nearly everyone in the south of UK has. I know it stands to reason given where it is geographically.

How do you know who is northern?

Incidentally we are and we used to go to Chamonix for skiing and to Brittany for many years when the boys were small. Most of my friends have been many times for camping holidays, or to Paris.
Theres not many people I know that havent been.
