Well done Sara Cox and all the CIN walkers

Amazing effort from Sara Cox and all Children In Need walkers this year. Lindsay Burrow has carried on Rob’s legacy in fundraising with a ‘three-legged’ walk (tied together with a Look North presenter) across Yorkshire. Many more have done other impressive things (that I couldn’t do). I think they’re amazing.

And why has she done them?

to get a pat on the back while she makes herself look good in the press, saying “she” has raised the money.

🙄

goldenskiesandsilverlarks · 14/11/2025 22:23

She hasn’t! The general public has.

Whatever Sara Cox’s salary I doubt she personally could afford to donate £9m, so she’s used her name and “fame” to help with a fundraising activity.

Why were the general public making these donations this week do you think?

goldenskiesandsilverlarks · 14/11/2025 22:46

Her “efforts” are reckless and narcissistic.

come on people. Why are these multimillionaires encouraging us to donate? Why are they acting like they, as the elite, couldn’t club together and solve these problems? Because they don’t want anything to change.

Zov · 14/11/2025 22:47

Silverbirchleaf · 14/11/2025 22:18

They’ve announced she has raised over nine million pounds. Wow!

Brilliant! Smile Certainly a lot more than any of the haters on this thread will ever raise. They prefer to just spout vitriol, and throw shade on someone doing a good thing.

How tragic. Sad

Good grief, can you just please stop?! We get it, you don't like Sara Cox.

We just can't figure out why.

SmockAndBeret · 14/11/2025 22:48

Why do you hate people raising money for charity, @goldenskiesandsilverlarks ?
Your posts are absolutely bizarre.

Higglea · 14/11/2025 22:49

Ok, nutjob on thread alert activated. I just wanted to recognise the efforts of all CIN fundraisers as I’ve met some this week who definitely don’t want profile and definitely can’t solve the problems of all children in need by themselves. Maybe it’s a hatred of a public figure, I don’t know 🤷‍♀️

I agree OP. It is a huge achievement and should be recognised.

I dislike multi millionaires acting like the working people who have to scrape together every last penny to donate, are the ones that should be funding public services in this country, and not them.

You did nothing wrong. Thank you for starting the thread. Sara has done brilliantly! NINE MILLION POUNDS! WOWWWWWWWW! 😄

100% this. ^ Probably best to not engage.

It’s nothing to do with her.

More to do with these grotesque displays every year from the richest in society, expecting the ordinary people to donate, when they easily could.

You think Sara Cox should be funding public services? 🤣🤣

FFS she’s a well remunerated woman, but she’s hardly part of the financial elite!

But, as has been said, many rich people DO donate. Why are you so angry?

And don't say it's nothing to do with her. You said she is reckless and narcissistic. You clearly dislike her for some bizarre reason.

Higglea · 14/11/2025 22:55

@Zov I know, it’s been so inspiring- plus others doing really difficult things, giving their time and effort for charities like hospices. Amazing! Go Sara and Lindsey and all!

OP posts:
SmockAndBeret · 14/11/2025 22:56

So, she shouldn’t have done it then, @goldenskiesandsilverlarks , and the various children’s charities she’s helped would have been £9m worse off.
Yep, that’d have been better 🙄

sittingonabeach · 14/11/2025 22:56

The wealthy people are the ones funding the public services, many people in this country are not net contributors, they take more out than they pay in.

JudgeBread · 14/11/2025 22:56

Christ @goldenskiesandsilverlarks I need a sorbet after reading all your comments they're so fucking bitter. We get it, you hate successful women and resent her because she makes more money than you. It's ok. Let it all out.

Sara did a great job helping to raise over 9.5 million so far.
How anyone can find this in any way offensive is quite sad and utterly bizarre.
It's all for the children.

Amen to this!

mamagogo1 · 14/11/2025 23:03

The majority of people in the public eye do not discuss charitable donations in the U.K. it’s not the done thing.

I use the word public eye because dj’s, newsreaders, actors etc are not necessarily “celebrities seeking publicity, they just happen to do a job to entertain or inform us thus can use their influence to raise money for good causes.

how wealthy she is I do not know, I’m sure she has a nice house, nice car, perhaps private school for her kids but I’ve met her and her family a few times at events, they were very down to earth and not “celebrity” types, quite a few years ago her daughter decided to sit on my lap for her mums talk!

Zov · 14/11/2025 23:04

@mamagogo1 Sara has always seemed nice every time I've seen her interviewed. Smile

OhOhOhOhItsAlright · 14/11/2025 23:04

Fuck me there are some miserable fuckers around. Who cares if these celebs do it to be praised or whatever else, the fact remains that the money has been raised and that’s a good thing. Without Sara doing what she did, charities would have 9 million less, so good on her for doing it, whatever her reasons and whether you personally donates or not!
