And how do you feel about it?

My next one is 60 - eeek 😬
But as the saying goes, it's better than the alternative right?

60 in 4 months and happy about it. Up until 5 years ago no one in my immediate family had reached the age of 60. DB2 was the first person to do so - DM, DF, DSis1 and DB1 all passed away between the ages of 18 and 58. Crossing fingers i get through snipers alley unscathed between now and then!

OneOpalScroller · 12/11/2025 19:20

40 in 4 years. I’ve got goals I need to meet by then but otherwise life is great, I feel privileged and I’ve got awesome people in my life.

Rictasmorticia · 12/11/2025 19:24

80 really grateful to have got this far with no health worries. Still got my lovely DH, Kids and GKs GGK. Lost my dad when hew was 50 so it has really made me value every year that passes.

40 but not for 6 years yet. I wasn't looking forward to turning 30 but actually have thoroughly enjoyed my 30's so far.

GrumpyNovember · 12/11/2025 19:33

40!
Not sure how I can possibly be that age, 40 is a really mature grown up and that's definitely not me 😆

GreatUserName · 12/11/2025 19:52

We're a varied bunch aren't we! A good range of ages 🙂

I was sixty this year, so my next big one is a while away.

my daughter asked me how I felt being sixty and I said I’m grateful that I’ve made it so far and I’m happy and healthy. Many I know didn’t get so fortunate. So yes, the expanding waist and sagging skin can get you down but getting old is a privilege not afforded to everyone.

coxesorangepippin · 12/11/2025 20:01

50

longtompot · 12/11/2025 23:54

@GreatUserName same and I feel a bit panicked about it tbh. Nothing I can do, I know, but feel I am speeding ever faster to the, well, end. If this past year is anything to go by, which has zoomed by I feel, I don't want each year getting quicker and quicker. Plus the aching joints I have now, it's just going to get worse.
That said, I had an aunt die in her early 40s so really, every day is a blessing.

LoudPlumDog · 13/11/2025 00:01

I couldn’t work out your title meaning for awhile.

Sixty.

I will be blessed to reach it. Aging is a blessing. My daughter recently passed away aged 21, she didn’t get the same luxury.

StarCourt · 13/11/2025 00:04

60 next year. Cant believe it

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 13/11/2025 00:07

theDudesmummy · 12/11/2025 16:40

70 . Not happy about it. It's a few years away though.

Likewise. Lets hope they don't change the bloody retirement age again in the meantime!

Ijwwm · 13/11/2025 01:29

Next one will be 60. Doesn’t seem possible! In my head, I think I’m still in my early 30’s although my body says otherwise.

Up to 50 I was ok with. The next one is freaking me out a bit tbh. I keep thinking back to my mum at the “same” age as me, and it feels like not long ago and a lifetime away at the same time.

Am grateful to be adding the years to my belt, though - better than the alternative.

KitTea3 · 13/11/2025 01:33

40

Don't know about anyone else or if anyone else has ever had the thought, but for a very very long time I've strongly believed I won't live till 40 😬 so in a weird way feel like I'm living on borrowed time? 🤔🤦🏼‍♀️

CarrieMoonbeams · 13/11/2025 02:02

I'll be 60 on Tuesday 😊. I'm happy and healthy with a really peaceful life and I feel very lucky. DH was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 days after his 60th birthday though. Early stages, no treatment required at the moment and he's being monitored very well and frequently.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 13/11/2025 02:11

40 is the next one about a year away.
Feel really positive about it. I might not have the body and looks I had in my 20s but my headspace, organisation skills, and resilience & attitude to life are just leagues above what they used to be so life is just easier even when its harder.

FiveShelties · 13/11/2025 02:15

70 next year. I was feeling very good about it, but had a TIA last week which was a bit of a shock. So my aim is just to get there😁

JacknDiane · 13/11/2025 08:10

50

Im fine (said in drunk ross voice)

I feel this so much. Mine is just over 18 months away. I have been feeling so down about it, and big birthdays have never affected me before. As I get closer I am becoming more accepting though. So hopefully by the time I get there I will be fiiiinnne

TenWeeCaramelJoeys · 13/11/2025 10:49

60 in two years. Not exactly jumping up and down with excitement, but don’t have the horrible feeling of dread I had when I was turning 50.

I’m so sorry about your daughter. I lost my sister at 27 (I was 28) and when I get a bit panicky about aging, I try to think how fortunate I am to get here.
