It's absolutely pouring here.
It's the stormiest rain storms we've had for a long time.
I'm sitting in the car waiting for child to have music lesson.
South east home counties.

It has been raining steadily here since yesterday evening. Your normal soaking drizzle type of rain, not the heavy monsoon style. Not yet anyway.

The local river is already up by half a metre (nowhere near bursting its banks yet though) and we do get flooding in the town sometimes, so I will be checking out the Environment Agency website later.

ThatAlertLilacFinch · 14/11/2025 15:03

Heavy rain and grey here all week in my part of the Highlands.

Then woke up to snow showers this morning which were not forecast! Turned to sleet around lunchtime and snow is mostly gone now, but more forecast for next week.

hobbledyhoy · 14/11/2025 15:31

Always. Scotland can be grim in the winter.

I can deal with the cold, it’s the horizontal rain that gets right in your face to the back of your hood that makes your jacket pointless.

strangetimesbelow · 14/11/2025 15:33

Today has been the first day in over a week without torrential rain. Yesterday was particularly bad. North of Scotland here.

Arlanymor · 14/11/2025 15:34

Absolutely torrential here - South West Wales - we weren't supposed to be affected by Claudia, but it seems that we are. Lots of flooding. It's been miserable since Tuesday.

Itsasmallworldafterall25 · 14/11/2025 15:35

Brisk, breezy and bright here in Scotland

Not a drop of rain

StuntAcorn · 14/11/2025 15:39

I think we are sitting directly under a cloudburst as it has gone ominously dark here.
DCs due out any minute, no doubt just as the heavens open as they say.

It's raining so much that my mum's bedroom has a leak in the ceiling from a bad roof that we, and our letting agency, weren't aware of before we moved in and hadn't shown itself until today.

Some roofers have been out to do a temporary fix, but it's still damp all around the top of the wall near the window, and I don't know when they'll be able to do a proper fix due to this shitty weather 🥲

StuntAcorn · 14/11/2025 17:13

Oh no @GarlicBreadStan
I hope you and your mum can stay dry and warm.
Can you ask your letting agents to provide a dehumidifier to keep away damp and mould spores before they can get a proper fix sorted?

I didn't even think about that! Yes, what a good idea. I think they're closed tomorrow and Sunday, but I can call them on Monday and ask if that is a possibility. Honestly it looks AWFUL. Luckily I think the temporary fix has worked. I'm just glad it didn't happen in my son's room!!

BestZebbie · 14/11/2025 17:20

Pouring down all day in Cambridge, and also windy enough to have finished knocking all the leaves off several trees near the house so suddenly the season has visibly changed. Surprisingly warm (for November) though.

hopspot · 14/11/2025 17:21

Midlands.

Yep. It’s poured all night and all day.

EmeraldDreams73 · 14/11/2025 17:21

It's steadily raining here (Devon) and has been for what feels like forever. But it's absolutely torrential in Exeter - dd2 is at the station for now and they've been told that if it continues like this they'll cancel the trains. 😣

Yourinmyspot · 14/11/2025 17:23

It’s been raining all day here in Lincolnshire. Only the heaviness has varied. Wasn’t nice to be out working in.

ilovesooty · 14/11/2025 17:28

Hasn't stopped all day. My two cats think I'm personally responsible.

Judellie · 14/11/2025 17:36

It's perishing here in the north east. Mizzly rain all day too and it's now raining a bit harder!

Icecreamandcoffee · 14/11/2025 17:41

Heavy rain here all day (S. yorks) lots of the roads are flooded as the drains are full of leaves/ mud and need clearing out. The school run was chaos with paths and roads flooded.

ihavebecomecomfortablynumb · 14/11/2025 18:12

North Lincolnshire, it’s been raining steadily and heavily all day, it’s so wet that the dog, who is normally a pain in the arse to get back inside because he’d rather stay in garden hoping he gets a whiff of a squirrel is now refusing to go out for a wee and nothing I do to persuade him that he needs to go out is working. He stands on the door step looking at me as if to say “you’re crazy if you think I’m going out there.“ I’ve had to deploy buckets in the boot room, utility room and orangery (the joys of old houses) and I’ve got tea towels on my windowsills. I hope it stops soon. 😞

molifly · 14/11/2025 18:14

Midlands here and it's been steady all day but it's at its heaviest now. All the roads are starting to flood

JudgeBread · 14/11/2025 18:14

Aye pissing down. Wales though so it's not unusual.

CharlotteCChapel · 14/11/2025 18:16

Somerset heavyish rain all day

StuntAcorn · 14/11/2025 19:47

Hope everyone got home safely and all pets have forgiven you 😅
Its abated to a slight drizzle now here.

Heavy rain, just waiting for the roads to start closing as the river flooding comes down - this is pretty normal for us, we had the first vehicle stuck in the (very well signposted) ford of the winter this week too

Chipsahoy · 14/11/2025 20:12

For once, the weather warning doesn’t extend to us. It’s been sunny and cold today, with the odd snow shower. NE Scotland.
Looks awful for the flood affected areas. Hope it eases soon.
