Have mushroom gummies made me haunted?

I’ve been taking Feel Gud for a couple of months and I do find that I’m less overwhelmed and more focussed. It’s subtle but I notice the difference when they run out. I am peri and not on HRT so I’m taking lots of supplements alongside.
Just recently switched to Ankhway because - Instagram - and they are nice - they taste better, I like the more sustainable packaging, I feel good already but I’m aware that could definitely be the placebo effect.

The issue is that the last two nights I’ve been have audio hallucinations and this is a completely new thing for me.
I heard a dog barking in the room and also someone opening the bedroom door and coming in last night along with some other less definable sounds.
Have the ankhway gummies opened the doors of perception and now I’m experiencing other dimensions? Or ghosts? Ghost dogs.
What is going on here? Or is it just coincidence because it was Halloween on Friday?

Just wondering - lightheartedly - if anyone else has had any unexpected side effects with functional mushrooms?

I’m afraid to say, they open pathways that you really don’t want to open. Alcohol and cigarettes can do it too, but much more likely with drugs.
I’ve had these experiences over many years and it became really bad until I stopped everything and started praying. It started small, a voice, covers being whipped off in the night and then it became so bad, I was being attacked and had scratches on my body in places very hard to reach places (on my back)
If you do an internet search, you’ll find quite a bit of information on this topic.
You can rebuke it in the name of Jesus Christ and it will help. I would stop it all together personally.
I’m a pretty rational and logical person and was atheist until this started happening!

You're only meant to have 1, if you have so many you start believing in poltergeists, spirits and Jesus then you have to stop

People don’t get it @Terrytheweasel I hope they don’t have to go through the same to see there is more than the physical, but maybe unless people experience it for themselves they won’t.

You’re right. I really appreciate your comments though - it’s validating to hear from others who have had similar experiences.

The op has commented suggesting I need to seek help, when all I was trying to do was give some advice to not take anything that is having this response (and the potential reason why this could be) as I’ve been through it and it was completely traumatising - as have you.

I do feel fortunate to know how to deal with it now though as for many years it was a battle and I was deeply troubled. Now I’ve never been happier and stronger mentally and physically.

The OP sounds like it should be the heading for a Take A Break article

Did MUSHROOM gummies make me HAUNTED?!

Same here @Terrytheweasel I’m so glad you’re in a good place too. Don’t worry about the op comment, they don’t realise that we already had the help we needed! The battle scars are real. It’s empowering to have the tools to fight back and overcome and peace knowing we will never be alone in the fight. If you haven’t read it I recommend Pilgrim’s Progress by Bunyan, a brilliant and very relatable allegory!

The kind of stuff we went through will always look strange from the outside, people will always condemn, mock, discredit, dismiss. It’s easy to do because it sounds so bizarre and at odds with everyday mundane life. Even Thomas had to put his hand on Jesus physical wounds before he would believe, which pretty much sums up where most ppl are at.
I am very thankful for everyday mundane life though, I’m just a regular mum, tired and trying to navigate parenthood, peri and paying the bills etc

What on earth are some of these answers on about? OP isn’t taking drugs, she is taking something like lion’s mane.

OP I’d look at what individual mushrooms are in your gummies and then google if anyone has experienced something similar. I’ve not heard anything like it myself.

Lion's mane can be as harmful as some prescribed medication side effects. Not all "natural" things are safe.

DarkRootsBlue · 03/11/2025 20:56

@ForeverDelayedEpiphanysorry yes, I meant psychedelic drugs. Lion’s mane and other supplements absolutely can be as strong as prescription drugs.

McKinneyWinny · 03/11/2025 21:54

I've found any shop bought mushroom supplements to cause very strange and immediate side effects - feeling almost high and also very anxious after taking them - palpitations etc.

Probably best to avoid if you are sensitive to their effect, lots have psychoactive properties. It's very odd how different people react so differently.

@EmeraldRouletteI do find they help me, yes.
I previously tried lionsmane on its own but I didn’t like it. I felt like it gave me a mild headache. These ones have 10 different mushrooms in so I’m going to do a bit of googling on side effects.
I didn’t have any side effects with the feel gud brand and they had fewer types of mushroom in them

I take an NAD supplement, sounds like it does similar without the hallucinations!!

They sound a bit like my sleep terrors/paralysis where I think I am awake but am still dreaming.

Interesting. Have just started in the Ankhway and have had awful headaches (no ghost-spottings though). It must be them - annoying as I ordered loads and I do feel they help keep me sane

I rebuke pretty much everything in the name of Jesus fucking Christ these days, but it makes not a jot of difference.

I cannot stop laughing 😂

truthsayers · 01/12/2025 07:27

there’s no such thing as demons, devils, spirits or ghosts, so you’re fine and this is an anxiety response.
