When I was a teen I found a sex toy in my mum’s drawer. I shouldn’t have been snooping.

It made me think of her differently, and I felt a bit weird about it for a bit.

I’m over it now, I think 🤔

Everyone has sex toys, they aren't really the eye opener you think they are.

I have never had any sex toys in my house.

No sex toys in my house. Totally unnecessary if you have hands and a brain.

NC for this because embarrassing, but I had never had an orgasm before I bought a vibrator, at aged 24. I have hands and (I would like to think) a brain. I’m just a freak of nature apparently!

The camcorder. Fucking hell

I found a letter to my father by one of the students he'd been shagging. In it she mentioned having stayed with him in the family home while the rest of us were visiting my grandparents. She also confessed to a 'fetish for older men'. <boak>

He always had at least one vulnerable undergraduate shaggee on the go at any given time, but we'd never had proof before - he always told my mother she was paranoid and imagining things. So I ran triumphantly to my mother with this 'gotcha' letter.

And my father still insisted we all had the wrong end of the stick. He was protesting his innocence even as we packed up all his belongings and moved him into his sad little bachelor flat. He'd married another undergraduate student (not even the one who wrote the letter) within 6 months because he couldn't take care of himself and needed constant on-site adulation.

I have much more of my 1st child's stuff than 3rd child's.
Nothing to do with love or favouritism - all to do with my waning interest in (and time/space for) keeping everything.
It's not a reflection of my relationship with my children, more that I just had more time on my hands with my first.

Was also coming to say the same.

SliceofTosst · 30/10/2025 23:06

Clearing out my uncle's flat we found 39 tins of tomatoes in his kitchen cupboard.

What is wrong with calling a perversion a perversion? As long as it is legal, it is up to the person to decide what they do. It does not stop it being a perversion though.

Because there's nothing perverse about using a sex toy. It's completely normal and natural and even animals use objects to help themselves get off (just ask my dog Wink)

Do you cover the legs of tables too incase they get someone sexually excited?

Lol I have a sex swing harness attached to my ceiling kids think it's a place I hang my washing lol 😂

I’m intrigued. You need to tell us more. I have no idea what a sex swing harness even looks like!

WindsurfingDreams · 30/10/2025 22:43

In what way is using a vibrator a "perversion" ? That's really ridiculous

It is to some people. I remember a junior member of staff telling us about her vibrator and saying that all her friends had one.
We were all quite embarrassed.

People can do whatever they wish in the privacy of their own homes. Just don't expect everyone else to agree with it.

They are were when I was 12. Not so much anymore, but felt it was a good opener for this thread

That was such a weird comment from that poster, I think maybe they’re excited to tell us about how many sex toys they have 😂

Was it the context that it was in though? Meaning that you don’t really want to know about your colleague’s sex lives, normally?

I was on holiday with my mum, stepdad and stepsister in a family room (2 double beds) When they thought we were asleep, I realised that my mum and stepdad decided to have sex when I heard the words ‘it just slips in like a snake doesn’t it’

Unpleasant memory unlocked 🤣

@Django1988 "slips in like a snake?" 😯
Are we talking about, well, like.......a grass snake maybe, or something more hardcore, like a python? A boa constrictor? 🤣

Rainallnight · 30/10/2025 23:22

After he died, my dad’s violent and misogynistic porn.

BestieNo1 · 30/10/2025 23:23

I found a birth certificate in my mum's jewellery box. The baby was born 5 years before I was and my mum had been sent away and made to have the child adopted.

Did you ever search for your half sibling? X

Well yeah but it would be weird to chat about ones sex life at work anyway.

LBFseBrom · 30/10/2025 23:24

That reminds me of something funny. Actually two funny things. Not for this thread though.

Your mum may have tried it years ago and not cared for it, shoved it away somewhere with the intention. of getting rid of it. Try not to dwell. I'm an 'old woman' now but can remember when a vibrator, called 'non-Doctor', was widely advertised and many people did try them, just to see what it was like.

RaraRachael · 30/10/2025 23:24

@GummyBearette we didn't want to hear about her sex life. We had a older unmarried lady on the staff and it was so embarrassing for her.

BasilandTom · 30/10/2025 23:27

When I cleared out my Nan’s bungalow. I found my grandparents marriage certificate. My nan was very religious but the certificate revealed that she had got married 6 months before my dad was born and she had very blatantly changed the date to look like she got married the year before and therefore got pregnant within wedlock. I also discovered that she had lied about her age as she was actually only 15 when she had my dad. I also discovered love letters and cards sent from my grandad to my nan which were very sweet and reassuring that despite them having a shotgun wedding, they deeply loved each other.

When my dad passed away I found some very explicit photos of young women and a gun wrapped in a Safeways bag. I burnt the photos so that they were no longer in circulation and took the gun to the nearest police station to be destroyed. I knew my dad was ‘a bit dodgy’ but not quite as dodgy as I found out.

Explicit Love letters between my (married) mother and a very, very senior member of the Church of England (also married).

Is he still alive? This is sickening! Xx

I sound like a right pearl clutcher but cigarettes! 😂

My mum smoked a lot when I was very young. She stopped when I was teenager. One day I found a pack of cigarettes hidden in a kitchen cupboard. Turns out she never “stopped” she was just smoking on the sly whilst everyone was at school/work.

LifeSucksBigFatBalls · 30/10/2025 23:49

Sorting partners Grandparents house out and there was ALOT of Viagra

AlexaBeQuiet · 30/10/2025 23:52

Big pile of magazines in an old chest of drawers in the garage. Not Gardeners World or Railway Enthusiasts either 😉

unitedstateofmind · 30/10/2025 23:53

An exceptionally affectionate card to my mum, from the man who groomed me, after I'd escaped him. I think she went on holiday with him. She displayed it so I could see it. I was too scared to ask her, as I thought she would lie and I would feel so powerless if that happened.
