Lots of bests. Some that spring to mind: Cambodia. Guatemala. Merida, Mexico. Much of Portugal. Greece, mainland more than islands. Parts of the USA - SW national parks, Maine, Massachusetts, Washington State, Oregon Coast. Nova Scotia.
Worst: hated Bangkok. Don’t love Paris.

I loved India (Goa) and want to go back to explore more areas.

RampantIvy · 22/10/2025 06:51

Worst - Tunisia

Loads of great holidays though - Indonesia, California, Greece, Italy, Scotland, Shropshire, Devon, Madeira.

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 22/10/2025 07:16

Best; hard to choose, but a toss-up between Japan and Canada.

Worst; Helsinki. It never stopped raining.

Blueuggboots · 22/10/2025 07:26

Worst - Tenerife.
best - New Zealand. Or Crete if we’re going “cheaper”.

Bluesclues1 · 22/10/2025 07:29

Malta always comes up on these threads as awful and I've never understood why. I'm there now for the second time and enjoying it again. Still going to run out of time to see all the ancient sites we wanted to and visit all the museums. Valletta is lovely to wander round especially in the evenings. It's a lovely place.

BobLobla · 22/10/2025 08:22

Just back from Canada. Amazing!

Best: Bali, Maldives, Mauritius, Shri Lanka
worst: Butlin’s Bognor

youegg · 22/10/2025 09:20

Interesting that Bali has come up on two ‘worsts’ and one ‘best’!

CeeJay81 · 22/10/2025 09:31

Best: Crete. Beautiful architecture and food.

Worst: Haven near Blackpool, where it rained most of the time.

JudgeBread · 22/10/2025 09:36

Best: Budapest for just sheer ease, prices, great food and lots of fun stuff to do. Peru for the excitement of a big adventure.

Worst: Morocco. Made the mistake of going on a whim just me and my best friend when we were in our early 20's and exploring southern Spain. It was impromptu so we had no idea where we were going or where was safe. Just felt like a piece of meat on display the whole time we were there, hopped the ferry back to Tarifa sharpish and felt like a pair of naïve little idiots. The food was nice though!
