Best holiday was Ireland. I had never been there before and TBH wasn’t expecting anything other than rain.
I have never enjoyed myself so much on any holiday. Yes, the heavens fucking opened for the entire time, but it didn't matter. The pubs were nothing like I expected, completely different atmosphere to here. It's hard to explain, they just all felt so cosy, and once the music started ! !
I now understand why they're so famous. And why people make such a big deal about them.
The Killarney National Park is breathtaking. And the people were so friendly, astonishingly friendly.
Not to mention the best petrol stations on the planet. They have bakeries and fresh deli counters and kitchens and proper coffee machines, in a petrol station! !nd I don't mean a motorway services. I mean just bog standard petrol stations, why we don't have that over here I don't know.
The worst has to be Mauritius. The people were lovely, but the Island itself isn't what it looks like on the adverts. There are some stunning places, and I'll give it to them, the beaches are spectacular. But most of the resorts are in the middle of nowhere and have nothing around them. You're basically trapped there. After a few days, I just got bored.
But I wasn't prepared for the way the majority of the island looked. It's not a very attractive place. There doesn't appear to be any planning laws and people just build whatever they want. The houses are mostly just ugly, grey eyesores. They don't plaster or paint them, just leave bare concrete blocks. It looks like a mess, and there is rubbish everywhere. It's not a clean place.
