Would you be annoyed if school went 100% halal meat?

The school I work at has a new head teacher who has announced from after half term all meat needs to be halal. She says it's a more ethical way to slaughter animals (she's vegan herself) and no non-halal meat will be on offer. She said anyone who doesn't want it can bring a packed lunch.

I don't know much about halal meat other than it's religious connections. What do you think?

Halal is when they slice the animal’s neck with a knife and allow them to bleed to death…..

It is absolutely not a more ethical way to kill an animal.

I don’t agree that religious rituals/beliefs should hold any weight in greater society. Everyone else having to do something becase of another faith is not a progressive society, it’s going backwards.

If the reason is because it’s kinder to the animals or it’s cheaper, that’s fair enough but to adhere to a certain religion as its main focus then absolutely not.

I’m not surprised by this. I thought all hospitals and most schools served Halal meat.
