Do your sofas/armchair match?

roseroseanne · 14/10/2025 12:57

Do you have a set or?

I have two sofas both different styles and colours.

I’m looking at buying brand new ones and thinking maybe I should get matching - even though originally I thought that was boring.

It’s a boring question - but I am curious 😂

No,

but they both fit the vibe of the room

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 14/10/2025 13:14

Yes of course. I'm not a monster.

AzurePanda · 14/10/2025 13:15

No, I loathe matching sets.

Not at all. We have a sofa from Loaf, an armchair in a similar shade from Ikea and then a patterned John Lewis arm chair. Didn’t even consider they should be matching. We quite like the complimentary look

MyAcornWood · 14/10/2025 13:15

No, but they complement one another. Personally I dislike an overly uniform look for furniture, I like the mix-match vibe of ‘rather similar but just different enough’ styles and materials etc.

mumonthehill · 14/10/2025 13:15

No we have a pale blue 3 seater, a navy 4 seater, a grey arm chair and antique black leather chair! I think next time i might get sofas that match though.

redannie18 · 14/10/2025 13:19

No, not a fan of matching furniture. It all goes with each other and the room.

ApricotCheesecake · 14/10/2025 13:20

Yes

MaryGreenhill · 14/10/2025 13:20

No , my 2 sofas match but not the 2 chairs .

EndlessDistraction · 14/10/2025 13:23

No, completely different colour and style, as is the armchair in the same room. The colours work well together though.

SparklyCardigan · 14/10/2025 13:23

No, the sofa is modern and I have 2 Ercol armchairs which used to belong to my grandparents.

Deliveroo · 14/10/2025 13:30

Yes but only because they’re very old. They’ve survived the trend for mismatched furniture upholstered in the same fabric, and the trend for completely mismatched furniture, and are nearly back in fashion again.

If you care about fashion trends don’t make our mistake and buy an impossible to replace comfy set.

IAmThePrettiestManOnMyIsland · 14/10/2025 13:38

We have two large leather chesterfield sofas and a maroon wingback armchair. The walls are neutral, I prefer to accessorise with pops of colour, different textures and houseplants for a bit of a boho vibe.

AuntieDolly · 14/10/2025 13:40

No, 2 sofas same style but different colours and a small chair that matches neither

ImAPreMadonna · 14/10/2025 13:53

Nope. A dark green 3 seater velvet sofa, an orange velvet armchair and a yellow wool armchair. Green velvet footstool and dark orange velvet curtains. Cream rug on dark oak floor.

Papyrophile · 14/10/2025 15:36

Two sofas of identical shape and size, but in unmatched fabrics, and two chairs the same size and shape one striped fabric and one solid colour, both reddish.

shellyleppard · 14/10/2025 15:37

Nope Lol pale red bed settee and two green leather armchairs....all FB marketplace bargains 😂

blankcanvas3 · 14/10/2025 15:37

Nope, but they are coherent with each other and the rest of the room. I love a funky armchair

BadActingParsley · 14/10/2025 15:39

Nope, but they sort of tone.

Hadalifeonce · 14/10/2025 15:39

Ours didn't, it was cheaper to get them reupholstered than buy new ones of similar quality.

I definitely don’t care about any trend. It’s my home and I have to live with it.

I don’t have any matching furniture in any room by choice. But now looking online I’ve seen one o really like and my living room is an awkward shape.

Seems like you’re in a thread full of monsters then.

Yes G plan 55 in charcoal but we have two different colours of dining chairs same area as it's one bedroom flat.

EchoedSilence · 14/10/2025 20:18

Yes.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 14/10/2025 20:19

No. Some of our furniture matches. But the upholstery does not.
