I've been lucky and done well with Chinese food in the supermarkets' reduced sections. So I've got beef in black bean sauce from Morrison's, special fried rice from Waitrose and chilli and coriander noodles from M&S. Not too shabby!

I dont think I would eat pork 2 days out of date .It can look ok and smell ok but wouldn't take the chance

Made some pizza dough this morning. So three pizzas. One plain, one pepperoni and one veggie with mushrooms, peppers, artichoke and olives. Along with salad and maybe some homemade garlic bread. Carbs with carbs! Have a home made apple and blackberry crumble and custard for pudding.

Had leftover mash (who am I kidding, deliberately made extra mash yesterday) and made potato cakes - mash, salt, pepper, egg, flour, knead, roll, cut, fry.

Having with waitrose beef and caramelised onion burgers, beer battered onion rings, buttered corn on the cob and maybe garlic roast tomatoes.

onlyhereforthefood · 11/10/2025 14:46

Sausages, mashed potato, green veg and onion gravy here

Sausage and apple braise (a new recipe for us from a Waitrose recipe card) which I'll serve with lentils and cabbage. Expecting the toddler will just eat the sausage and apple!

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 11/10/2025 15:05

Zippidydoodah · 11/10/2025 15:09

Pork is one of those dodgy ones, like chicken- don’t eat it!

I’m doing a roast with trimmings though I feel like crap and am dreading making it. It’s dp’s favourite and he’s working tomorrow.

RonsonRaves · 11/10/2025 15:09

Chicken tenders, cheesy baked potatoes, asparagus, sugar snap peas, spinach, tomatoes and cooked peppers.

Butternut squash and sage risotto - been a long week and I’ve been really looking forward to having the time to make it

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/10/2025 15:14

Jacket spuds, M&S cheese & onion croquette things and my speciality beetroot salad.

Strictly night, snug on the sofa, good food, blankets, hot chocolate later.

olderbutwiser · 11/10/2025 15:16

Either the remains of dds excellent veggie lasagna or a cheeky pizza from the van in the next village along. Also excellent.
