Good morning from dd1's uni accommodation bed where I'm drinking the cuppa she made me, and eating the remains of last night's kebab for breakfast 😋

We're getting showered and sorted soon ish to head into London for a wander and lunch, before joining tonight's Ethel Cain queue in Hammersmith.

The gig's a birthday one so it's just me and dd - dd2 is home with their dad for the weekend. They're planning to head out somewhere to eat, probably this evening - she'll want to get her homework done.

We'll probably pick up something snacky on our way home for the night - last night was fries from McDonald's 😋 - to eat with a brew, before bed ready to head out again tomorrow.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Have a lovely weekend with dd1. I have been up since before six with sore feet. So I've had two coffees and a buttered roll. Then did a washing and went to Aldi for food. On my return I've put on washing 2 and stripped the bed. I've had a slice of toast and a cuppa and paracetamol as my hips are playing up too. I'm falling apart!
My new tv is causing me problems. I can hear BBC channels but not see anything and I've no idea why. A thoroughly annoying morning. However I had a huge leylandii hedge removed and they are busy putting in the fence. And the young man asked if he could give me a hand with the shopping which was very kind of him.
Today I will potter about, do some housework and rest. Mince and tatties for dinner. Enjoy your day all

its school holidays here and my children kindly let me sleep till 8am. Now made us all a cooked breakfast and enjoying a coffee. Football for DS1 at 11 and think we’ll walk to the library after. It’s been a hectic few months and really looking forward to a chilled week

Hoping Dh nips out for some fresh bread for breakfast soon. I did it yesterday. DD is still asleep, DS is watching tv.

Not much planned for today. There is a weather warning. We have lots to do here if can’t get out but hopefully can get a wee wander later.

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone. My heart is playing up this morning (palpitations) so I'm taking things easy while I wait for it to pass.

Mr Dilemma and I are going to have a game of scrabble in a minute. There is a wash on, we are eating something out of the freezer tonight so no cooking to be done, everything is sorted for my pizza party on Tuesday, my cleaner is coming on Monday so I don't need to worry about any extra cleaning, apart from the usual stuff, so a quiet day is to be had.

I'm currently sat with a latte and cake in a very niace cafe waiting for DD1 to sit yet another banding test for her secondary school applications. They all seem to fall on a Saturday.

We're then going to a (cheaper!) cafe as I've promised DD a hot chocolate when she is done.

Older two DC have gala practice after lunch as they have both been selected to swim in a gala in a few weeks.

I then need to pick up little one from grandparents house.

No idea about dinner, we dont have much in as shopping isn't coming until tomorrow so I'll grab something on my travels. Possibly just supermarket pizzas, salad and dips.

Good morning everyone. I’ve had a quiet morning to myself so far, dh is at work and dd11 is still asleep upstairs with her friend who stayed over last night.

I have had such a busy week I’m absolutely exhausted and run down so I’m full of a cold too. Today I need to catch up on the washing, make a start on cleaning the house, I need to go to the butchers to buy a few things for tea this week and I also need to carry on painting the bedroom as I’ve not had chance to finish it yet - hopefully it’ll be done by tomorrow.

For now I’m going to continue to just sit and do nothing and will get up and moving after my Tesco delivery comes between 11 and 12. Tea tonight is roast chicken baguettes and salad and then an evening in front of the tv for me and an early night.

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Been awake since DH’s alarm went off at 6.15 but not long up. Just given the 2 bunnies that are out some kale & had lovely kisses. Made a start on the kitchen & put another load of washing on. I need to pop out for a couple of bits, including eggs. The downstairs is desperate for a hoover & the bathroom is well overdue for a clean, although DH usually does that. DD16 is still in bed. Once the kitchen is sorted, I’ll peel spuds & a carrot. We’re having Pieminister steak & ale pies, double cream mash, carrots, peas & gravy for tea. DH isn’t a massive carrot fan, hence why I’m only doing one. Will catch up with Eastenders & MAFSUK at some point. Strictly tonight with an AF Thatchers. I might buy some Wispa Golds as a weekend treat. Have a great day everyone & enjoy the gig @lucysmam

I was up in the early hours with a stomach upset and I'm feeling quite pale and interesting, so I don't plan to do much today.
Just got some bacon and sausages (gulp) on in the air fryer for DH when he comes back from the dog walk, as he plans to spend all day grafting down on the land and I promised I'd cook breakfast… perhaps he can sling his own eggs (deep breath)
Spag Bol was made yesterday, so no worries about dinner.

I have about 132 books to read and Mayfair Witches to binge, and if DH takes the big boisterous shepherd with him, I will have a calm and comforting lab with her head on my knee.

Morning. Slow start here today too. Just about to go for my flu jab and then DD and I are going out for a late breakfast at our local cafe. The fact that she has already started her homework too is complete bliss.

Morning @lucysmam We were supposed to be going to a uni open day at UWTSD but I had a migraine last night, was in bed by 5.30 and still feeling a bit ropey this morning.

So I'll have a slow day, do a few chores, get some fresh air. Ds has swapped shifts and is working this afternoon at the pool.

Hopefully TSD have another open day later in the year.

I’ve buggered up my back, I did it on Wednesday just walking across the kitchen, god knows what caused it 😵‍💫😢. It was absolutely excruciating, I thought I was going to faint. So for 3 days I’ve done very little except hobble and fill hot water bottles. Yesterday I rang the surgery and my gp prescribed Valium which has made a big difference so long as I don’t bend.
It’s so frustrating.
At least DH is walking the dogs!
I have put a load of washing on for him to hang out in a bit, I need to think about what to have for dinner, possibly ham and chips I think, thanks to the air fryer!
Besides that, and doing some knitting, little will be happening here today 😊
I do need to do an online grocery shop.

I've just woken up, can't believe I slept so late and now I'm all confused and groggy. I need to bring DS to an activity shortly and that's usually my exercise slot too but I'm dreading it now as my body feels like lead. I'll have to force myself, I've gained a lot of weight recently and desperately need to get fit.

Just put the shopping away and now have the joys of cutting the hedges and mowing the front and side grass.

Not looking forward to the side hedge, it’s 30 feet long and 7 feet high.

Large amounts of painkillers have been taken to get the job done.

Almost 6pm here in Hong Kong and have just left work.

Good morning @lucysmam and the weekend gang. I'm showered and I'm just finishing breakfast.

I'm going to dry my hair in a minute and then head down to the town. I'm volunteering at a charity event to raise money to buy Christmas lights for the town. I need to dig out a Santa hat. I've a two hour slot this afternoon and then a slot tonight also. I've been battling a head cold, so I'd rather be stretched out on the sofa, but I don't want to let the group down. And there have already been a few casualties due to Covid (I don't have Covid).

@lucysmam I was laughing at the kebab for breakfast. You're really embracing the student lifestyle. How's your DD getting on at university? Is she enjoying student life and her course?

Dinner will be chicken and bacon pieces with tagliatelle in a cheesy sauce. And leftovers for tomorrow, so I don't have to cook tomorrow.

I laughed at the left over kebab for breakfast too. Very student lifestyle! Enjoy the rest of the day and the gig.

I slept in until 8.50 which is very unusual for me. Haven’t achieved nothing much so far. I have had breakfast of toast with egg mayonnaise and tea. And I’m dressed. That’s about it! Need to go for a walk, empty the dishwasher, strip DS’s bed and do some laundry. This afternoon DH and I are continuing to paint the garden room we had installed. On the home stretch now thankfully. A couple of more sessions should get it done. Someone had the bright idea of painting the window frames and door frame in a different colour to the walls. Looks nice but definitely made the whole job longer!

Dinner will be Dan Dan Noodles for DH and I and DS will probably order pizza. Then a chilled evening watching TV. Not sure what yet.

We got up at 8 after a good sleep which we both needed as we've had a rough few nights. Dogs been taken out, breakfast and coffees been had, now we're off to Costco. Tried and failed to get the teen up and into the shower but currently refusing so we're going without them. Their loss, my gain as usually end up spending a blinding fortune on them.

I slept well last night which is great - at last!

I’ve lazed about this morning. Going to get ready now in my cleaning clothes and start attacking the house… then I’m going to make a chocolate lava cake for us and an apple crumble for a friend.

I’ve been up since 8. Have had 2 cuppas and a cheese omelette, one wash load done and will tidy the kitchen once I’ve wrote this.

We have a family birthday party today then hopefully Ds will be tired for a decent time and dp and I will watch the last ep of Monster. Dd is at her dads and Ds doesn’t like going to bed and being upstairs on his own when she’s not here. If not we will watch a film together and I will fall asleep upstairs waiting for him to fall asleep as usual 😂

I've had my usual run and chat, a bacon and egg butty and tea with ds2 and we're now all in the car on the way to rugby - first round county cup and an early kick off so at least we'll have some day left when we get home.
Dh and I might go to Dunhelm for new pillows (thrilling!) but it depends what time we get back.
No plans for this evening - ds might go out with the rugby team if they're celebrating a good result, Dh and I will light the fire, watch a film and chill. We both simultaneously suggested pizza from a lovely local place so I think we'll do that for dinner.

Morning everyone! Like a previous poster, I'm also suffering from a bad back, I'm into the 4th week of it, so I fully sympathise with them. I'm planning a very restful weekend, just nipping to the shops for the weekend papers for dh, he's probably one of the very few who doesn't read them online. Then, I'm going to frame some photos of a family wedding we attended recently and add them to my collection on the stair wall. We are planning an evening of "Strictly" (we are very late to the party as we only started watching it last year) and it's prawn salad for tea. I'll then probably spend ages trawling Netflix and Prime to find a decent film while dh falls asleep in the chair! Have a good day everyone!

Good morning all!

I've just been doing a little bit of tidying up. I had my sister on the blower last night, inviting herself round for lunch as her partner is going away for the weekend to visit a friend. She's had a real shocker of a year, which is finally just about coming to an end. So it'll hopefully be nice to hear that she's feeling a bit better about everything. She should be here in about half an hour.

We're going out to the local pub for lunch, and she wants to go into the local farm shop near me for some of their bread which she likes.
Will probably get her booted out mid-afternoon, and then no plans for the remainder of the day.

Tomorrow I was meant to be going out to see a friend for a belated birthday dinner (for me), but she's had a shocker of a week as well. Moving house, and on the day of the move, her grandfather gets admitted to hospital out of the blue, then passed away Thursday afternoon. Not unreasonably, she's not feeling party-ish. So instead she's going to come round to mine for coffee on Monday morning for something more casual. We've been best friends for 25 years, and have definitely done the ups and downs of adult life together. This is just another chapter.

We’ve had a very slight change of plan. I’m no longer going to the butchers as I realised it’s open tomorrow and I want to get the painting finished today so I’ll just crack on with that and leave the butchers for today. And dh has just rang to ask if I minded him going to the pub to watch the rugby later which is fine but means he won’t be here for tea so I’ll find something else for me and dd11 to have as it’s not worth roasting a whole chicken for 2 of us! Might order a takeaway to save me having to cook as I am seriously lacking motivation today. I’ve only moved to put more washing in and have a quick shower and now I’m back on the sofa in my comfy clothes.
