Anyone else feeling really poorly?

Beryl23 · 08/10/2025 18:19

I came down with a sore throat on Friday and felt utterly exhausted. This developed into a snotty nose and cough and general malaise over the weekend. Then yesterday I suddenly felt so much worse… absolute exhaustion, congested, facial pain and a constant headache and earache on the same side as the facial pain. Went to pharmacy who said probably sinusitis and gave me some steroid nasal spray but said it can take two weeks to go away. Still feeling crappy today and the ibuprofen and paracetamol are only just taking the edge off the headache and earache 😭 Anyone else felt like this recently? Don’t know what else to do!

Yes! All of us have been ill with similar. Get well soon

Mydogisagentleman · 08/10/2025 18:22

Yes, a couple of weeks ago.
I took a Covid test.
Today. It was positive. Apparently there's lots around

NormasArse · 08/10/2025 18:23

Yes. Had Covid about a month ago, and now I have pneumonia. It’s bloody awful!! 🦠

Yes I have had headache, sore throat , hot and cold sweats, terrible cough head cold and ache all over - I’ve been like this since Friday Morning - taking paracetamol every 4 hours - doesn’t seem any end to it - hope you feel better soon

madaboutpurple · 08/10/2025 18:27

I have similar symptoms, also for 2 days I didn't eat a thing which is unheard of usually. I am not well enough to go out so can't buy a covid test kit.

diditwelldone · 08/10/2025 18:27

I have only just shaken this bug off but now have awful pain behind shoulder blade ,worse when I move my head ,driving etc .Probably pulled muscle from coughing so much.

sueelleker · 08/10/2025 18:30

Yes. I had a stomach ache with it, too.

limescale · 08/10/2025 18:35

Such viruses are always around. People respond differently to the same one ie with the symptoms they get and how they recover.
Get well soon.

Brightbluesomething · 08/10/2025 20:47

Yes, all of the above. Only started in an all day meeting this afternoon. Totally wiped out now. Covid is going round work. Same symptoms as everyone else who’s had it.

mit123 · 08/10/2025 22:31

Update : Just did Covid test - Positive :-(

BloodandGlitter · 08/10/2025 22:33

Yes, started with sinus pain had 24 hours of just sleeping then an awful cough my bladder can't handle and stomach issues. It's just been utterly rubbish.

menopausalfart · 08/10/2025 22:41

Just reminded me to stock up on cold stuff. Thanks!

TokyoSushi · 08/10/2025 22:43

Yes, I had the same! I did a Covid test pretty early on and it was negative but im
fairly sure if I’d tested again that’s what it would have been.

TheScottishPlay · 08/10/2025 23:03

Me and DH have also just had this. It was the pain in the roof of my mouth that was the worst for me. Today is the first day in over a week I have been dressed and ventured outside.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/10/2025 23:09

Checking in. I felt a bit rough on Friday with a sore throat, then on Saturday that had become excruciating. My DP was away for the weekend and I had been to M&S on Friday and stocked up on tasty snacks which I didn’t want to eat, so I knew bad things were afoot! By Sunday I was coughing so much I was puking. I did do a Covid test but it was negative - I’ve lost taste and smell though.

Been off work all week and only today am out of bed - I’m now really, really thick and congested, and so sinus-y my top teeth hurt.

On Sunday I actually cried because I felt so ill!

Beryl23 · 09/10/2025 17:49

Sorry to hear so many people have been ill! Hope everyone who is still suffering makes a swift recovery. I still have a cracking headache but not feeling as exhausted today so hopefully I’m on the mend 🤞

Yes! I’m not usually one to succumb to a cold but I have a doozie.

I have coughed myself inside out and now my lung hurts (I imagine that’s where the pain is). I’ve not had any sleep for 3 nights because of coughing or the noise my chest is making when I’m not coughing. Thankfully for him, my husband’s working abroad this week.

JackJarvisEsq · 09/10/2025 17:56

yes very foggy and achy for about a week now, it’s probably Covid but since I don’t go anywhere I know if it is at least I won’t pass it on 😂

bookworm14 · 09/10/2025 17:58

My poor DD has this currently. It may well be covid, but I’m not testing as am keeping her at home regardless. She’s really unwell, poor thing.

DancingNotDrowning · 09/10/2025 17:58

Yes exactly that - every bone in my body hurt, my limbs ached, sore throat, cold symptoms.

was covid

BrieAndChilli · 09/10/2025 18:01

I have been totally floored by this bug.
DH had contact with 2 friends last week - 1 popped over for coffee having just recovered from covid (and wife was still ill) and contact with another who was a little unwell and has since been laid up in bed. DH then started feeling ill on Thursday and me on Sunday.
Absolutely shattered, every bit of ky body hurt, headache and fogginess, felt sick and no appetite and hot and cold sweats. Today was the first day i have started to feel more normal bit now full of snot and cough.

Laiste · 09/10/2025 19:17

Yes! Exactly the same, even the same timeline as you OP.

I was actually thinking of starting a thread wondering if it was normal to be falling asleep so easily after a bad cold. I NEVER sleep during the day, but this morning i fell asleep while writing an email ! 😳

Lunaballoon · 09/10/2025 19:24

I thought I was coming down with a cold a couple of days ago. Feeling like I’ve been hit by a bus today. Tested positive for Covid. It’s definitely still out there!

SiobahnRoy · 09/10/2025 19:27

🙋‍♀️

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/10/2025 21:47

How are all my poorly people? I’m now over a week of this and still full of snot and woe - although I can taste and smell again now at least. I’m so mad because I was off work sick most of last week, and am now on holiday and still sick.
