Also - in the time machine- proper midget gems, in the old days they were a bit harder , and thet black ones tasted a like licorice. (Not like the rubbish ones today- that have been renamed mini Gems lest any one get offended. I'm 4ft 8. Bring back Midget Gems ).

are you from the West Midlands? I’m starting to think they are local to where I grew up.

I have not come across teacake sweets, in fact I am going to be asking google about a lot of them. Reckon a lot are regional only and I have not come across them.
