Ooooo toffee bonbons, American cream soda, choc’o’lick, cola cubes, (k-lie) that’s how I pronounce it but have absolutely no idea how to spell it. And some lips for my mum.
And a cola bar while you are there please.

Aniseed balls please.

I loved aniseed balls them and gobstoppers are definitely the reason my teeth are ruined

RaraRachael · 21/09/2025 20:01

I loved a Mint Cracknell as it was the only mint sweet with milk chocolate. All the others had dark chocolate which I hate.

They were amazing. They bought them back for a very limited time a few years ago.

The mixed up sweets where they threw all of the last bits in the tubs into one! I can't remember what they were called. Just the best because it was different every time, a mix of everything.

And if you didn't have enough money for a quarter then just 2oz please.

Oooooh happy, innocent times.

We called it a Yorkshire mix.

i want the bonfire toffee on a lollipop stick with the metal foil round it.

Strawberry millions and acid drops. We had a shop like this is our local high street. Friday lunchtime at school always involved at trio. I returner the paper bags that disintegrated in the rain.

nonevernotever · 21/09/2025 20:09

Ooh please could I have a quarter of buttered gingers and a quarter of lemon rock? I'm 57 and I can just remember buying a huge bag of white chocolate mice with my very first pocket money (4 for an old penny!). DH says please can he have a packet of old English spangles, and he'll bring a can of Tennant's. He also reminded me about 5p singles, but I'll not having any of that nonsense.

Neveranynamesleft · 21/09/2025 20:10

Black and white mints, the square liquorice ones...lush.
Chocolate peanuts and raisins...the chocolate was crap but we were none the wiser back then.

ClaredeBear · 21/09/2025 20:11

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 21/09/2025 20:11

Gobstoppers anyone? How we didn't choke on those I'll never know.

Also can anyone remember sweet pebbles. They were different shapes, colours and sizes.
