I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. Boy cat came to wake me up at 5am & snuggled up when I didn't get up, then girl cat tried at 6am 🤣. She went to sleep at my feet when I also did not get up then! They've both been fed & happily dashing about upstairs now before they go back to bed.

We're not really doing much this weekend - dd2 has homework she wants to get done so she can work on planning for an exam, and she really, really needs to tidy her room, again!

Dd1's having a blast in London. She's spending the weekend with two friends, one lives there and the other is staying over. They went to Camden to see an artist's billboard yesterday. She hasn't properly met any flatmates yet, despite sitting in the kitchen to eat & just being in there sometimes on the phone with us 🤷‍♀️. She says it's like a ghost town.

I'm going to clean the bathrooms, hoover the stairs, do washing and upload some items to Vinted, then settle down to start some more peg dolls I think.

We're having curry for tea, I fancy potatoes as a side so will look for a recipe shortly so I can get on with those 😋.

After that, it'll be showers and probably another episode or 2 of The Rookie, dd2's favourite programme, before I head to bed 💤.

had a coffee brought to bed before H&youngster left to chase a football about for a bit. Leaving 6th form in bed as he has to now be out house same time he used to get up, which he has been doing without getting cross but yeah, will leave him until 11am unless he gets up naturally before.

Then picking up additional teen, going to try them on chilli this evening.

See what the weather does might suggested a heartbeat raising power walk, see who takes up the offer, might be easier to borrow a dog!

Glad to hear DD1 is enjoying London. I went to uni in London in the 90s and loved it!!

We are dropping my middle DS off to his halls tomorrow, he needs a few last minute bits sorted today. He is really looking forward to it.

I’m meeting my friend for our usual Saturday morning coffee and then I do need to get housework done.

Walked dog to horse in horizontal rain. Bastard horse was at opposite end of 14 acre field and refused to come in so had to trudge over to retrieve him. Walked back home.
Drove DD to school with a stop at Greggs for bacon buttie etc
2nd cup of coffee and contemplating cleaning bathroom and kitchen before picking DD up and taking her riding. Got 20 billion loads of washing to do also..

A day of errands/car service/tip run...
Have woken up feeling horrid but need to plough on 🤧

Good Morning all.

Not long got out of bed after scrolling for a while. Just sitting in the kitchen with a brew now, nice breeze coming through the kitchen doors. Dp and dd are still asleep, ds is on his PlayStation. No doubt when the rest of the family arise I’ll be told it’s freezing and to shut the door. I am always BOILING lately. I’m 33 next week and just don’t feel right, I’m boiling all of the time, period is coming and going when I’ve always been like clockwork. My moods are terrible, so irritable all the time. May have to see my gp.

Got a couple of hours work to do today then we are heading to sils for the night. Really looking forward to it, bottle of champagne has been chilling in my fridge for a couple of days. Bowling, darts and a Mexican then back to there’s for music and drinks.

DD started y7 3 weeks ago and she’s struggling, seeing her upset about school is breaking my heart so I’m glad we’ve got this planned today, a fun day and night with her cousin is just what the doctor ordered I think.

Today is going to be sofa time in the morning with pottering around playing and swimming this afternoon hopefully an early night.
My daughter has recently started pre school and is absolutely exhausted even though she won't allow herself to rest so we're probably going to be dealing with some melt downs.

Good morning everyone, it’s drizzling here and I’m knackered.
Both dogs are walked, the kitchen is clean, I’ve made apple crumble and sorted out gammon and sauté potatoes for dinner with a salad I think.
I have yesterday’s dry washing to sort and put away and ZDog2 needs a bath, she loves rolling so looks somewhat grubby 🙄
I want to carry on with the watercolour pencils sketch I started yesterday evening and try to finish a book I started weeks ago but am decidedly lacking in oomph at the moment.
I also need to dig something out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow, maybe make a pork and cider casserole? Nothing else planned here 🌻

Just on my second coffee of the morning. The weather is awful today, really missing the sunny Septembers we usually have and haven’t quite figured out what to do on a rainy weekend yet. Dc are happy at the moment chilling and watching tv.

I have a mountain of clothes to sort out and list on Vinted that I’ve been putting off but I think today might be the day!

We started watching the new itv series Coldwater last night and really enjoyed so will finish that off tonight. Maybe with a Bailey’s.

Grey day here today, dh and ds are just getting ready to go to ds football match then they’re coming back for a shower and change and off to our local team to watch the football! I’m heading to the shops to find a jacket and a winter coat, check out the new Lush Christmas stuff and maybe treat myself to some new jeans and trainers too.
Other than that I’m not up to much, hoping to be there and back by lunchtime. I’m a bit under the weather with a chesty cough so will probably spend the rest of the day lying down under my heated blanket.

Dog has been walked but think ill get him out for a run again soon as the others are all going to the football.

Quiet night planned. It’s been a really tough week at work and school so everyone is exhausted and just want to relax.

It's the first proper day of our holiday in North Devon today. I have had my morning swim and we will be going out to the Created Crafts festival shortly. It is wet and windy, so we won't be there for very long, I just want to pick up some beautiful bowls from a potter I know will be there, for Christmas presents.

Our holiday has been a little bit "curate's egg"y so far. There were a couple of serious crashes on the M5 which backed up traffic on a lot of the alternative routes so the journey took twice as long as expected. Then yesterday evening I discovered that Mr Dilemma, who INSISTS on 'helping' me by boxing up all my meds, had completely forgotten to put one of them in. I have enough for 3 days but will then have to get some more, somehow. This morning, after swimming, I made myself second breakfast of buttered teacake and coffee - at which Mr Dilemma said he would have one too. I asked him what he wanted when I did the online shop and he said he wanted crumpets, NOT bloomin teacakes! So I bought him crumpets. Words were had, in fact we had a 'discussion'. He didn't have a teacake, neither did he have a crumpet, and he is currently sulking.

On the positive side - our holiday place is warm and clean. The pool is lovely. And Mr Dilemma's sulks don't last long.

We are just about to go out and Mr Dilemma has just disappeared into the loo, so it will be a little while before we actually leave....

I had a rotten night's sleep again so I'm a half shut night this morning. Sore feet and a dodgy hip are not a winning combination. In addition, my car is out of commission until Monday when it's getting fixed. So today is a day at home. I have had two coffees and a croissant followed by a cuppa. The bed is stripped, the washing machine is on and the dishwasher has been emptied and loaded. I have bolognaise sauce in the slow cooker and I'm having a seat for a bit before cleaning the bathroom, polishing and hoovering. Then I will potter about the rest of the day, taking things easy. Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Another Saturday! It’s miserable here in Cornwall, grey &,raining heavily, so I won’t mind going to work this afternoon. It will no doubt be busy. I was awake & scrolling at 5.30 as my shoulder/back were very achey but went back to sleep for a bit & ended up answering the door in my robe at 9am! The lady who bought my Joe Brown coat was a bit early. I have never sold anything so quickly . Wonder now if I should have charged a little more but I’m £40 richer plus there’s more space on the pegs in the hall. Had the coat for years & just never wore it. Really doing well on the decluttering front & feel so much better for it. I just didn’t have the energy or inclination but now there’s no stopping me! I recommend the decluttering thread ( will find the exact title as there are several) as it spurs you on. Just enjoying my first cuppa of the day. No breakfast so will have brunch before I go to work. The dishwasher is on & I need to sort all the laundry as we seem to have accumulated loads. Might buy another basket. DD16 has been out for a walk & has a friend coming over later. They won’t require food apparently, which reminds me I must buy some pasta as that’s what we’re having tonight with pesto & peas. Looking forward to Strictly. We didn’t get into it last year although I did catch a couple of Chris & Diane’s dances. Wonder how many of the celebs I will actually know! I’m a member of a local theatre & had a fair bit of credit from returned tickets so I’ve treated myself to a premier seat for “Return of the Legends” which is 5 of the Strictly male professionals. Can’t wait! Have a good day folks 🙂

Morning. Saturday Kitchen with a coffee at the moment, then bike ride to the library for a book change. I am swimming in apple puree after a bumper harvest so I'm hoping to fit in making some apple muffins before watching England's semi-final against France this afternoon. 🌹🏈

Decluttering thread 11

DDs want a trip into town so we'll do that once my minor hangover has cleared!

We're in the same boat @dontforgetme . Lots of anxiety and tears so I know how tough it is. I just keep reminding myself they'll get there, its still early days.

I just looked up peg dolls as wasn't sure what they are. They are cute. Do you make them for yourself or to sell?

A quiet day for me. I'm nursing the end of a severe migraine. I have meds which mask the pain but my head still feels unclear.

Dh has taken DC1 to work so I am home with DC2.

I've hung out the uniforms to dry and put on a load of white socks to wash.

I've done some paperwork for DH.

I've just had a sausage sandwich with DC2. Having a cup of coffee now.

Later I want to give the house a good hoover.

Curry for dinner sounds good, that will be on my list for next Saturday. I do an oven tray bake curry which takes 1hr 30 to cook. This means I can't do it during the week when I get in from work and we're all starving. I really need to buy a slow cooker!

Traybake curry sounds interesting. Do you have a recipe @Imperfectpolly?
This is the view for the next 2 hours of my day. Looks fun

I had a CT angiogram yesterday so felt tired. Feel fine today and headache has gone they give a drug that opens your blood vessels and did warn me.

Off for a walk and then out for carvery so no cooking today. Will watch box set with DH later and game on my console while he watches football on tv early evening.
