Driving today and 'Endless Love' plays on the radio, I immediately think of Chandler Bing and Phoebe duetting in Friends.

Something Inside so Strong and Ben - Gavin and Stacey church scenes.
There She Goes - first scene of Gilmore Girls

Have you watched the out-takes reel of that scene? I actually cry with laughter every time I watch it 🤣🤣🤣

”Lyrical dance flap”

This has made my day.

When I hear men in black I think of Jerry st clair selling black bin bags in phoenix nights. But also when I get the black bin bags I also sing come and get your black bin bags - they’re on offer til December.

And also for Gavin and Stacey, chasing cars for the scene where uncle Bryn reads the letter from Stacey’s dad on her wedding day. Makes me cry every time.

I highly recommend the podcast “Fake Doctors, Real Friends” with Zach Braff and Donald Faison. They go through every episode and have some hilarious anecdotes, as well as Bill Lawrence regularly chipping in.

I dont tend to listen to podcasts but that does seem interesting.

Have you seen they are doing a scrubs reboot?

Another Love (Tom Odell) from The Vampire Diaries when Damon and Elena are in the pouring rain.

Holding Back the Years by Simply Red.
Rodney has just got married, and as he and Del boy say goodbye, Del boy then stands and stares at Rodney as he leaves. The music starts, and they know, as do we, that their lives will never be the same again

Fizbosshoes · 17/09/2025 23:06

Pie Jesu - Denise giving birth in the Royle family

CrushingOnRubies · 17/09/2025 23:13

Landslide - Fleetwood Mac. Now just reminds me of This is Us.

Breathe Me, by Sia, always makes me think of the final scene in the final episode of Six Feet Under

Me too! And I get emotional about their deaths all over again.

Rodney has just got married, and as he and Del boy say goodbye, Del boy then stands and stares at Rodney as he leaves. The music starts, and they know, as do we, that their lives will never be the same again

And then Rodney turns up after work and Del tells him "Rodney, can I tell you something that will hold you in good stead, how do I put this? You don't live here anymore!" Rodney replies "oh my god, she'll go loopy!" 🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant!

Dreaming of You by The Coral from Scrubs

Georgia on My Mind from the original Quantum Leap

Owwmumo1 · 17/09/2025 23:23

TyroleanKnockabout · 17/09/2025 18:02

Lacking the emotional resonance of some of these, but Here Comes the Hotstepper and Car Share. We all sing the alternative lyrics in this house.

Is that the one with Reece Shearsmith? The out takes are hilarious.

IntelligentInputDarling · 17/09/2025 23:26

You and Me Song is Romeo + Juliet to me.

I’ve just remembered another song that I only discovered because it was in an episode of Scrubs…one of the patients wants to play with his band, so they bring them into the hospital and it turns out to be the Polyphonic Spree.

I also weirdly love Ted’s band’s cover of the Charles in Charge theme tune.

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 17/09/2025 23:27

I love to love by Tina Charles reminds me of the most beautiful scene in River with them dancing 🥺 That series really affected me like no other.
It's a Sin - Pet Shop Boys from It's a Sin.
Hunters and Collectors - Home and Away when Shane dies. (I never knew what the song was for a long time)
Suddenly by Angry Anderson when Scott and Charlene get married in Neighbours.
Vanessa Carlton a Thousand Miles from the scene in the car in White Chicks.
Kate Bush Running up that Hill reminds me of Max in Stranger Things.

IntelligentInputDarling · 17/09/2025 17:49

Oh my god - Suddenly in Charlene and Scott's wedding!

I have this on my iTunes and play it full blast in the car where nobody can hear me singing 🤣

LeeHarper5 · 17/09/2025 23:39

This is such a great thread!

Hot Stuff - The Full Monty
You Never Can Tell - Pulp Fiction
Bohemian Rhapsody - Wayne’s World
Wind Beneath My Wings - Beaches

Here With Me by Dido from Love Actually

Soonenough · 17/09/2025 23:42

I See You Baby by Groove Armada in The Sopranos . Played in the Bada Bing as the topless strippers danced as Tony fully clothed contemplated his life totally ignoring them. Tawdry and so sad.

Hey Now by London Calling in Normal People when Connell sees Marianne dancing at the school disco

IntelligentInputDarling · 17/09/2025 23:43

Love Actually song + scene for me has to be Emma Thompson crying in her bedroom to Both Sides Now 😭💔

OP posts:
RightOnTheEdge · 17/09/2025 23:56

Not a particular scene but
She Moves In Her Own Way
always makes me think of Georgie and Elvis in Our Girl 💔

IsItTimeToRetireYet · 18/09/2025 00:05

Love the Car Share out-takes!

Great use of music in that series but Red Light is the one that always brings it to mind for me.
That and ‘come back my car share buddy’…

pontivex · 18/09/2025 00:08

Crying by Roy Orbison. Only Fools and Horses when Raquel and Tony Angelino sang it….. Cwying.
