Why do British people chant “Bring Back Boris”?

What do they mean and why do they enjoy doing so?

It's just something they teach us in Brit Studies, at Brit School. It's just 'in' us, IYSWIM?

I actually cried out 'Bring Back Boris' instead of repeating my wedding vows to the registrar! She said she gets it all the time though

I chant it on the hour

We sing it at my choir group. Some of the harmonies are breathtaking.

Yes people were singing it when we were queuing up for the cafeteria in M and S today.

Wonderful sane Boris paid for us all to get a lobotomy with our Covid vaccinations. This means we all love him and think he is a Thoroughly Good Chap. We clap for him every afternoon at tea time too, just to remember the good old days of Covid. Extra points if you bang a pan on the doorstep in a rousing manner.

I recorded myself chanting it and set that as my alarm. Really nice way to start the day. I added the time in as well so I get woken up with, "It's six twenty am. Bring back Boris!".

I love a good chant me. Don’t really care what it is. Lately I’ve been alternating between “bring back Boris” and 🎵 “celery, celery. If she don’t come I’ll smack her bum with a lump of celery” 🎶
