Why do British people chant “Bring Back Boris”?

What do they mean and why do they enjoy doing so?

In my area we have a slightly different chant that we sing to the Take That song
Bring Boris back, bring Boris back, bring him back for good!

It's nice when we stand under the George's Cross and Union Jack flags together as a community to do so.

Because he kept promising something was “oven ready” I think they are all waiting for their lasagne.

Embarrassingly I shouted it during the peak of an intimate moment. Turns out it was fine as DH joined in the chant.

People have what is sometimes called gallows humour. Mass killers (which is what he is, indeed the worst in peacetime) are sometimes revered.

I named my daughter Bring Back Boris just so I could say it even more often. And the dog. And the fish.

It's actually Reform supporters chanting Sling Back Dorries.

Apparently a person on Death Row in the US was asked about a last request and he said Bring Back Boris.

An elderly person in my local hospital has been in a coma for 2 weeks. She woke up this evening and chanted "Bring Back Boris!"

I sometimes find myself involuntarily chanting it whilst ‘spaffing money up the wall’ 🤷‍♀️.

Well she's supposed to be going to Cambridge on Monday to start her foundation year so I hope she's finally seen sense and is starting to pack her stuff rather than fannying around deciding whether to take yet another gap year and apply to Oxford.
How she thinks Oxford are going to offer her a place if these questions are indicative of her intellectual ability I don't know.
