Favourite chocolate?

Boring thread! But had some shitty health news this morning and craving chocolate for the first time in a long time as I’m just not a sweet fan normally, much prefer crisps so it’s been years, so hit me with your favourites, help me decide what to get.

This is mumsnet, so i know there is a guarantee of two posts of “who eats that upf shit when I’m craving sweet I only eat organic fruit” and some post that is “I only eat ricchissima brand it’s handpicked cocoa from one special tree that they sell every 7th moon in Harrods and seasoned with gold dust sparkles.”

But I have a corner shop and a Tesco available to me right now and want chocolate, so normal recommendations would be greatly appreciated 😂

For cheap I like Cadburys
For fancier I like YOKOKO - salted caramel 😋

Puffalicious · 17/09/2025 16:44

Fry's Cream - original blue packaging.

Fry's Orange Cream - orange packaging.

Twirl from the fridge.

Enjoy OP. I hope you're okay and the chocolate helps ❤️

Twirl. I love Cadbury’s chocolate! You can put posh chocolate in the bin, especially Hotel Chocolat.

Crème eggs….mmmm

I also like a Fry’s chocolate cream.

Oh actually just remembered I had some of the Lindt Dubai pistachio chocolate (from Dubai, apparently the one here is a bit different, but haven't tested it yet) - it was really good!!!

Brokentri · 17/09/2025 18:07

Sorry to have just disappeared I ended up buying and eating a twirl as several people mentioned it which hit a spot and not mentioned a curly wurly which was a disappointment and then fell straight asleep at home so forgot to come back!

Montezuma Black cherry

deeahgwitch · 17/09/2025 18:14

I have to say I love a Twirl too.
I check the bar code and if it says OCO I know it is made near me and will taste delicious.
I also love Lindt Red bars and the Salted Caramel variation that comes in a turquoise blue wrapper.

TaborlinTheGreat · 17/09/2025 18:18

Tony's, Lindt or Green & Black. Lindor balls are good too, but a sickly!

The big bar with the crispy bits in (can’t remember what it’s called. Not had one for ages) Ferraro Rocher. Food of the Gods. Oh and Paynes Poppets. How could I miss those out 😍

Could it be dairy crunch?

Teddy589 · 17/09/2025 18:19

Someone mentioned Lindt shortbread balls? I have to check those out! I don’t really like Tony’s very much, my tastes are much cheaper - Toffee Crisp (do they still do them?!), Galaxy or if I’m feeling flush a bag of M&S chocolate covered pretzels. 🥨

Gladysknightgottogetaholdofmyself · 17/09/2025 18:20

Toffee crisp very much still on the go😋

Yessss!!! In the blue wrapper x

Purplecatshopaholic · 17/09/2025 18:22

Hope you are ok op. I love a Cadbury’s Twirl. If it’s been a really bad day then Lindt’s Lindor chocolates (the one in a box with individually wrapped chocolate balls) - heaven (and you get different flavours in different coloured wrapping…)

tomorrowchild · 17/09/2025 18:27

A kinder bueno is my favourite!

Mumofteensandcats · 17/09/2025 18:28

Chocolate covered peanuts so you can suck the chocolate slowly to make it last or failing that either double decker or smarties!

goingtotown · 17/09/2025 18:39

Cadburys wholenut.

Flinderskleepers · 17/09/2025 18:51

A Daim bar. So underrated but so delicious! Does stick in your teeth though which is a bit of a bummer.

Thank you, I’m sure there was a rumour about them being discontinued recently.

Hope you’re OK and the chocolate has done the job, OP.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/09/2025 19:09

For the sort of really special chocolates to give as a present, IMO you can’t beat Friars of Keswick.

budgiegirl · 17/09/2025 19:27

Either Ritter Sport Rum and Raisin, or Cadbury Marvellous Creations (I'm a big kid at heart). Although I did have Candy Kitten Treets Crunchy Corn the other day, and they were delicious.

pambeesleyhalpert · 17/09/2025 19:28

Tony’s sea salt and caramel! Hope you’re ok!

IAmJustAGirl · 17/09/2025 19:32

Mine changes with the direction of the wind! Right now I am all about Crunchies

glotterbug · 17/09/2025 19:37

Lion bar every time!
