Favourite chocolate?

Boring thread! But had some shitty health news this morning and craving chocolate for the first time in a long time as I’m just not a sweet fan normally, much prefer crisps so it’s been years, so hit me with your favourites, help me decide what to get.

This is mumsnet, so i know there is a guarantee of two posts of “who eats that upf shit when I’m craving sweet I only eat organic fruit” and some post that is “I only eat ricchissima brand it’s handpicked cocoa from one special tree that they sell every 7th moon in Harrods and seasoned with gold dust sparkles.”

But I have a corner shop and a Tesco available to me right now and want chocolate, so normal recommendations would be greatly appreciated 😂

Picnic!
I hadn't had one of those in decades, now its my go to chocolate bar!
I had one this morning!

Either of these. Both available at Tesco and both very delicious.

Yes! That salted pretzel bar is a good call. (But Lidl's is better.)

cattykinns · 17/09/2025 14:51

I look a salted caramel twix or a kitkat chunky peanut butter personally

I like the Lindt dark chocolate with orange and almonds, think it’s called Orange Intense.

runningonberocca · 17/09/2025 15:09

Lindt milk chocolate hazelnut. By far my favourite. I used to love Galaxy but it tastes really different and kind of greasy now. Was so disappointed with it the last time I ate it

femininomenon · 17/09/2025 15:34

I am slightly obsessed with the pistachio Ritter sport bar at the moment

Tony's Chocolonely Everything bar

I had one of these recently and it was delicious. On offer at Tesco. I don't like the way they make the pieces like shards, though!! The packaging took me back to when all chocolate came in silver foil, with a separate paper wrapping over that. Nice.

Clingfilmdefeatsme · 17/09/2025 15:48

Crunchie. Perfick!

mamagogo1 · 17/09/2025 15:48

Crunchie or peanut butter kitkat from corner shop type places, Lidl own brand chocolate and Seasalt (fair trade range)

thereisajellyfish · 17/09/2025 15:51

I'm proper laughing at most of the responses.

Double decker.

Excellent choice! I’m that and Dairy Milk.

BeaLola · 17/09/2025 15:53

Galaxy
Crunchie
Those M&S double chocolate biscuit rounds
Dairy milk fruit and nut

HouseFullOfChaos · 17/09/2025 16:01

Mint Aero, buy two because they're mostly air Grin

ClafoutisSurprise · 17/09/2025 16:07

Another vote for the dark chocolate Lindt with orange and almond. The dark raspberry one is good too.

For milk chocolate, I’m opting for Cadbury Marvellous Creations, Wispa or minstrels. Weirdly, I find Cadbury’s and galaxy chocolate really sickly otherwise, but love all these.

pinkbackground · 17/09/2025 16:07

Maltesers

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/09/2025 16:12

A whole box of Bendick’s Bittermint chocs will do me nicely any time.

Though ditto Maltesers, come to that.

It's a bit of a treat, price wise and I know Waitrose stock, not sure about Tesco, but I love Butlers chocolates. First tasted in a 1/2 easter egg and now I stock up when it's reduced.

Butlers is an Irish brand. They do sell it in Tesco in Ireland.
Butlers also have cafes called Butlers Chocolate Cafes where they do a mean toasted sandwich. Utterly delicious - if ever you are in Dublin check them out @77Fee There’s one in the airport

kiwiblue · 17/09/2025 16:14

Tony's chocolonely. The milk dark chocolate pretzel one is like crack! 😀

SheilaFentiman · 17/09/2025 16:21

Twirl, every time.

00deed1988 · 17/09/2025 16:29

Dairy Milk Wholenut or Tony's Chocolonely Milk Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt if I am feeling flush!

Bakingbeannumber2 · 17/09/2025 16:29

Tescos dark milk is an absolute game changer, honestly the best chocolate ive ever had and pretty low on processed ingredients

mumofoneAloneandwell · 17/09/2025 16:29

Twirl bars 🤤

Catpiece · 17/09/2025 16:33

The big bar with the crispy bits in (can’t remember what it’s called. Not had one for ages) Ferraro Rocher. Food of the Gods. Oh and Paynes Poppets. How could I miss those out 😍

Pieceofpurplesky · 17/09/2025 16:37

Minstrels. I like to nibble the shell off!
