I’m really sorry to hear that, people are all that’s important at the end of the day

A swimming pool. When we bought this house we discounted any with pools on the basis of expense and the fact that we don't get enough sun. I think the weather situation has changed and we now have solar panels so our electricity bills in the summer are low. I really want one.

Just one thing? How to choose.... hmmm....

A dishwasher and a bigger kitchen to put it in, which is why we don't have one now.

Same here! I have a tabletop one, which is better than nothing, but I’ll definitely be getting a full size one as soon as I can remodel.

I’d love to get a cabin bed or high sleeper for DD. Sadly can’t afford it at the moment.

Studyunder · 16/09/2025 19:56

Alcoves and a house elf

violetpink · 16/09/2025 19:56

A housekeeper

ihavetocookagain · 16/09/2025 20:03

Cleaner or chef! Hate cleaning and hate cooking!

Peace and quiet

I came on to say exactly that. If I hear the words “brain rot” one more time from DC I will not be held accountable for my actions I was at work at 5 and finally sat down an hour ago after dinner,
homework etc so I have had enough.

Me too!

A cleaning person, not permanently, just a one off blitz, then 2-3 hours a fortnight.

MsSmartShoes · 16/09/2025 20:40

a new kitchen. New windows. New Husband.

TrickyD · 16/09/2025 20:50

A lift.
Not a stair lift a real one. I’m 81 and now find the stairs hard going.
We have what I think is the perfect location for one and once we have finished declutterring we will get some estimates.

Does anyone here have one or can offer thoughts?

TappyGilmore · 16/09/2025 20:50

More space
More storage
Second bathroom
A garage
A bigger garden
A swimming pool
A large pantry

So basically a totally different house, not things that can really be added to my current house.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 16/09/2025 20:54

An upstairs bathroom, or even just a toilet.

jessycake · 17/09/2025 00:05

A downstairs loo

Billy Bob Thornton

FortuneFaded · 17/09/2025 02:02

New windows. Cannot afford them, need them due to current ones being draughty and the glazing has condensation in it. The windows are huge, and it is expensive to replace.

ladymalfoy45 · 17/09/2025 06:37

@HopeSpringsInfernal of course.
I'd just like to chat about gaming and books.
I also think he'd make a wicked pot of tea so we'd talk about biscuits too. And crisps and snacks.

SparklyGlitterballs · 17/09/2025 06:45

Some nice decking and garden furniture. Currently have just three flagstones outside the back door and fed up with all the dirt and mud that gets walked in the house. I'd much rather have a patio if I'm honest, but I have very narrow side access with steps (through the garage) and you wouldn't even get a mini digger in to prepare the area.

Boobyslims · 17/09/2025 07:34

A utility room

DressDilemma · 17/09/2025 07:53

A TV,mine broke a few weeks ago, will buy one next payday😊

Almostwelsh · 17/09/2025 07:57

An en suite
A South facing garden.

LavenderBlue19 · 17/09/2025 07:57

A second bathroom, definitely. We're still in our first house and it just wasn't feasible at the time, and now we want to stay in the area for the school and all the bigger houses are £££.

We'd basically be paying 200k for a small extra bedroom and a downstairs loo 🤦
