Fuck OFF Elon Musk

1000 replies

noblegiraffe · 13/09/2025 19:35

Elon Musk appeared via video link today at Tommy Robinson's Racist March wittering on about woke mind viruses and calling for the dissolution of parliament.

All I really want to say is FUCK OFF ELON MUSK.

It really isn’t. It’s actually leaning more and more to the right over time. I’ve been on MN for nearly 10 years now and it has changed quite significantly in that time.

Yes it used to be more left, though there have always been enough right-leaning posters for there to have been pretty robust discussion. Recently though there has been a wild influx of openly racist posters - and before someone tedious jumps on to say 'it isn't racist to be concerned about immigration', I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about posters coming on to tell Asian posters to go back home (seen on a thread today) or that there are too many black people here (also seen on a thread today before it was deleted in seconds). The discussions on the Kirk murder were repeatedly derailed by a number of inarticulate and not hugely literate posters wailing and handwringing and praying in between calling for public executions and calling people paedophiles if they disagreed. All of that is fairly new!

Nagginthenag · 13/09/2025 22:23

Livelovebehappy · 13/09/2025 22:12

And you disagree that MN isn’t predominantly to the left? Of course it is. Not saying that’s wrong, because I believe we all have the right to have our own political views. But in my experience, having been on here for a few years, is that it’s very much left leaning on here.

Not over the last few years. You only have to read comments over the last few days to see how far to the right it's moving. I've been around here for over 25 years. The site used to be slightly liberal, but a kind place where there was lots of good advice, humour. Now, not so much.

But open borders is what it would be if we went down the route of inviting asylum applications from anyone who wanted to come here. 75% of those who come here in boats are granted asylum - 50% at first base, them 50% at appeal. So I’m guessing if that’s the bench mark currently, it’s not going to be much different if do it legally, plus we will have many thousands more applying. If we did it alone, now not being part of the EU, it would cost us billions in the extra funding needed. Not sure where Reeves would find that sort of money when she’s currently struggling to find 50billion to sort out the current deficit.

Hence saying it needs an international solution. Blaming everything on the small numbers who c9me here (compared to elsewhere) isn’t the answer. I don’t th8nk it’s clear whether numbers would increase massively with better systems, but I acknowledge they might. We need an international agreement about how many each country can take and from where.

You are talking about less than 10% of immigration. You wouldn't even notice if the boats stopped tomorrow.

And we don't accept 100% of asylum seekers

Elon Musk and Robinson are talking about remigration, are you in favour of that?

Exactly. It’s so disheartening to see. I used to come on MN to hear from witty, intelligent, insightful women and to learn from them. Now I spend most of my time on here arguing about racism.

Well we are on MN. The lefty echo chamber, so it’s hardly surprising is it? MN has been shown to not reflect real life sentiments I’m afraid…

You think people are big fans of Elon Musk in real life?

A certain subset of people, possibly. On another thread that is no longer accepting co tribulations, some posters claimed there were 1 million people marching for Yaxley-Lennox’s cause in London today.

Police figures estimate 110,000. Quite some difference.

Yep more than double that go to Glasto every year. Three times that to Creamfields. And this march was free...

i wonder what Musk really, really wants. Deep in that warped soul of his (if he has one)

ThreePears · 13/09/2025 22:33

Bringmeahigherlove · 13/09/2025 21:11

Yes, telling people to fuck off is a poor argument. Whereas telling people free speech no longer exists whilst adjusting algorithms on your social media platform to promote one central narrative is a fantastic argument!

I'm quite happy to tell that android megalomaniac to fuck right off, and I don't care whether you think telling him to fuck off is a poor argument or not.

I can rephrase it into something more suited to your delicate sensibilities if you like, but the sentiment would remain the same.

ThisOldThang · 13/09/2025 22:35

IWFH · 13/09/2025 20:39

3 million was suggested on that thread.
Only 27 times out...

If you watch the drone footage, the crowd is absolutely immense. I've not seen a crowd that big since the Stop The War march.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/sep/13/unite-the-kingdom-far-right-rally-london-tommy-robinson-police-assaulted

I think there must be at least a million people, maybe two million. It's hard to say because the drone footage ends without showing what's to the left and right at the junction. Given the density of the crowd, it seems unlikely that it's empty streets just off camera.

Tony Blair said that he knew how unpopular the Iraq war was because for every person out demonstrating, there were probably ten people sat at home with the same views.

You can try and downplay the numbers, but the evidence is there for everybody to see.

I think the people sneering on this thread need to wake up and pay attention to the visceral anger in the country. People are sick of having these unpopular, extremist and niche open borders policies rammed down their throats.

You'll be waking up to a Reform (or genuinely Hard Right) government and wondering how it happened - just like Brexit.

He used to really want to get to Mars. Then he accidentally bought twitter and now seems to be deeply invested in getting the worst possible people elected in various countries. It's very odd.

Of course I don’t believe in remigration. I want us to pause immigration so that we can at least sort out this shit show unfolding before our eyes. NHS, housing amongst so many other public services simply not fit for purpose. We should sort that out before even thinking of bringing in any more people. And yes, I know that previous governments haven’t invested in public services, leaving us in this situation, but that’s irrelevant now. We can only look forward and not look back. We need to improve life for people already here, and that includes every resident here regardless of race.

BeardofHagrid · 13/09/2025 22:36

So you want to silence someone for having opinions you don’t like? Could be considered a kind of fascism when you think about it :/ Do better please.

No, I want to tell someone to fuck off who is actively trying to meddle in the politics of our country when he doesn't even live here.

Do you see the difference?

Are you sure?

Net immigration has come down considerably already since the 2023 high.

Will you also pause emigration?

You realise that you are literally talking to that poster on the same thread? So which echo chamber are you referring to? Someone disagreeing with you does not mean they exist in an echo chamber. Do you all get trained by the same person to parrot the same things over and over again?

Of course what he says is not going to impact us. He might be rich. He might be running the biggest social media platform in the world, but all that means is that his opinions are very much out there in the public domain. Nothing here will change in spite of his comments. The government definitely won’t be taking him seriously.

His platform had a big influence on the riots in August 2024, especially when it came to spreading misinformation
