Do you believe in manifestation?

So I actually began to study the science behind it rather than “I’m going to magically wish to be a millionaire by the time I wake up tomorrow)

And honestly small things have happened that I can’t say is just a coincidence.

I hadn’t spoke to a friend in maybe 3 months, in fact she was more of an acquaintance and I had a thought about her and that I probably would hear from her again but it would nice if I did. Just hours later she messaged me.

The other day I was stressed over a jacket I wanted to sell that had been on my Vinted for ages (removed, uploaded 4 times). It’s been up this time for weeks with only a couple of likes, I thought I’m going to sell this. The next day it’s sold.

I had a clear image in my head of someone knocking on my door and giving me a package despite me not having ordered anything, A week later I heard knocking (assumed it was my neighbours door, it was early and I was in bed still). Walked out hours later to a huge box left on my doorstep. My mum had used my Amazon Prime and forgot to charge the address)

So yes I am starting to believe after much in-depth research and listening to lectures, that there is science to your subconscious creating the reality that you see.

I'd have said No a year ago, but have had some amazing things happen since embracing it.

Care to share? I love manifestation stories. ☺️

SplendidUtterly · 12/09/2025 15:56

Yes.
A few times I have randomly thought of people that i haven't heard from in a LONG time and out of the blue they have got in touch.

Ok and this one is a bit weird but i was looking out at my mums shed roof and said to her words like "aren't you lucky that in all these years the felt hasn't come off the shed roof in all this weather we have been having" (keep in mind the roof hadn't been freshly felted in well over a decade.)

The following week i was at her house and we heard a noise, looked out the window into the garden and half the roof was on the floor 😂

Just catching up with this thread after my manifestation last night came true Wink

Moving away from manifestations for a moment, I predict that the OP will, in years to come, realise that it's all just an illusion that people cling on to, to help them get through hard times and there's absolutely no reality beyond coincidence.

And on that note I have manifested my dinner and I predict I'm going to eat it Grin

it sounds like you’re talking about spacestar ordering. This is a pretty convincing video for skeptics out there.

My favourite show!

First you should learn what science is, then you should look again at the 'science' behind manifestation. There is no science behind it and anyone saying there is, is NOT a scientist!

What about Dr Tara Swart? She's a medical Doctor, a Psychiatrist and a Neuroscientist. She wrote a book on manifestation.

Any eminent physicist who backs it, is irrelevant?

To be fair she seems to have quite a different definition to a thought about a parcel and that made caused a parcel to arrive. Her definition seems to be more, you think about wanting a parcel, you take the steps to order a parcel, and the parcel arrives.

It’s a fascinating topic.

This is a great explanation of the ‘crazy ideas’.

What’s the gist/practical application for anyone wanting to manifest a better life?

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 13/09/2025 11:26

There is no science behind it. If you want something enough, you will find way to make it happen. End of. Selling something on Vinted is a strange example of manifesting something - you want to sell it so put it up for sale. You have interest in it. Good indicators it will sell.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 13/09/2025 11:57

Canwegobacktobegin · 12/09/2025 12:25

And there you are running with the same boring narrative you created. Who said anything about fault?

If you can’t wrap your head around someone growing up in poverty, living in a deprived area and not being afforded even an acceptable level of education and further opportunities, that deep in their subconscious they may have an ingrained belief that this is their continued experience then I can’t help you.

Your subconscious stores memories, and influencing your behaviour, beliefs, and decisions. It runs on autopilot and influencing your life through automatic reactions and ingrained patterns developed from past experiences.

You dumbing it down to you’re poor because it’s your fault and if you just thought “I’m rich!” then everything will change. That’s your own takeaway and refusal to understand. I’ve never said fault or that the conscious minds thoughts have any influence on life.

You're advocating for the Power of Prayer and the outcomes being as result of being a good enough prayer, a good enough believer and the Will of God being the final determiner, so that any failure to come up with the desired outcome is the fault of the person praying or it doesn't apply to the things that you find inconvenient, like health.

To check this, look at any statement made describing a 'successful' manifestation and substitute 'I prayed', 'I asked God', 'I made an offering at the Temple', 'I sacrificed a chicken', 'I asked Jesus', 'I said the Our Mary', 'Drew down the Moon at Equinox'. Where there are the sudden ideas 'God came to me', 'An angel guided me to the car', 'I was moved by the Spirit'. They all scan equally well - because it's the supernatural/magical that you're describing, not something different and scientific.

The only difference is that you are putting yourself in the role of deity, intercessory agent and supplicant. Which, to be fair, has also been done before - a couple of thousand of years ago in the arse end of the Roman Empire.

You have zero idea how Vinted works and how oversaturated it is and how likes or “interest” means nothing. I had over 800 people like one of my items and it still took a week to sell.

This jacket was on its 3rd or 4th upload. It had been on there 3 weeks, had maybe 5 likes and nothing. I forgot about it and then when I subconsciously thought of it again and how I wanted to sell it, it sold maybe 2 days later.

Why didn't it work when you first thought of putting it on, then? Or the 2nd or 3rd time?

Absolutely no changes in weather, no falling the other side of payday for people, no chance that the other similar jackets in better quality/lower price/different size had to sell before somebody was left with yours, no chance that anything other than your magical powers made it sell?

I was going to respond with a more in depth answer but the fact you’ve referred to it as me having “magical powers” there’s just no point.

It’s nothing to do with having magical powers and the fact you’ve stated as much just shows how little you understand.

I really don’t believe in manifestation. In fact I think it’s a dangerous idea that leads to delusional thinking and a lack of grounded rationality. It’s one step on the path that leads to mental illness, imo.

@Canwegobacktobegin You are never going to believe this. I manifested a pigeon being in my liviing room really hard will all my heart, and then this morning look here it is!!!

Now I feel really stupid on two counts. One I was way to sceptical yesterday, and two, why did I pick a fucking pigeon??? I hate pigeons. I should have picked a Ferrari!

Tomorrow I'm going to manifest turning water into wine like Jesus did. Then I can sell it as the only zero calorie wine (since the only ingredient is water).

It's like a superpower. Don't tell too many people about it.

Now I've got to figure out what to do with a slightly oversized pigeon. Does anyone know if they lay eggs I could sell?

Perhaps the pigeon manifested YOU!!! 😵‍💫🐦😱

Cobblers - I know exactly how Vinted works. I've sold on Vinted and bought on Vinted. And your item sold! How do you even know you subconsciously thought about the jacket, eh?

Frenchcremefraiche · 13/11/2025 14:54

Manifestation was once explained to me as concentrating your mind to look for opportunities.

In other words, if you manifest yourself wearing red shoes, your mind will subconsciously look in shoe shop windows when you walk past for red shoes. You wont be aware you're doing it until one day your brain spots some and shouts "red shoes!" at you. You wont be aware that for the last 3 months you've been subconsciously searching for them. You'll just think "how lucky that I happened to look in this windowm the universe has sent me red shoes".
