I like the summer but lots of people say they prefer autumn and some say winter because of Christmas, my mum says spring because it’s full of anticipation.

Autumn is my favourite season but weirdly, at the same time it leaves me feeling a little bit melancholy.

I like all the months for varying reasons.

I LOVE spring because we emerge from the dullness of winter and embrace the new beginnings. The sun starts shining, the garden starts waking up.
I like summer but not when it’s stifling. Used to love the kids being off school in the holidays but mine are older now and can’t stand the ferals next door screaming for six weeks!
The beginning of Autumn is lovely because of the leaves on the trees and a bit of coziness creeping in.
I like winter because I can light the fire and the lead up to Christmas is frantic nice but really don’t enjoy the depressing state of January.

So yeah, all the seasons have their pros and cons

I love Spring and late Summer. Specifically I like May and September.

I hate the winter and can live without Autumn although I tolerate it for the beautiful trees 😊

Spring and summer, especially early summer

CrushingOnRubies · 09/09/2025 18:57

Late spring into summer

HollyhockDays · 09/09/2025 18:58

In order:
Summer
Late Spring
Early Autumn (not this year as it’s too rainy).
Late Autumn
early winter
late winter (February mostly)!

Late summer to about Halloween. It’s still warm but not too hot. It’s not light really early in the mornings and late in the evenings. I like watching the trees changing colour and then walking through the crunchy leaves. Where I live the last few early autumns have been dry but come Nov it starts raining and those crunchy leaves are just like mulch - which I don’t enjoy.

I also like January after the madness of Christmas, New Year and in our house DD’s birthday (the first week of Jan) I like the peacefulness of January and if it’s a dry sunny day I like wrapping up and getting out for a walk in our local park and just getting some fresh air.

No, it makes my birth month marginally less awful but it is still second bottom of my favourites list.

Nope I was born in November and it’s my least favourite month.

IGaveSoManySigns · 09/09/2025 19:32

August.

it’s still warm, but there’s that cold tinge that makes it exciting.

Greatgoats · 09/09/2025 19:58

Autumn is my favourite
Summer next
Winter I enjoy up until Jan/feb when it’s just been too long, cold damp and boring.
Then spring last

I don't think I like a season more than another but I love the change of season. It's like I'm fed up of the last and embrace the next.

This is how I feel too. I love the long days of summer and the warmth, but I also took so much pleasure in putting my favourite jumper on the other day for the first time in months!

Thinking about it more deeply the spring, summer, autumn and winter versions of bright sunny days are all my favourites, what I don’t like is rain and grey skies.

the 3 nice days we get each year that makes Scottish summer.

Really? I thought it had been unusually warm and dry this year. I know it was when we were there in August

It’s rained nearly all August in my bit of Fife.
