I like the summer but lots of people say they prefer autumn and some say winter because of Christmas, my mum says spring because it’s full of anticipation.
what time of year do you like?

Autumn and winter for me in the UK. Love the colours of autumn, and winter can be breathtaking and I love the build up to Christmas. I love jumpers and boots, love when it goes dark early and snuggling under a blanket in the evening. Appreciate we are fortunate enough to have a second home in Spain, where summer is unbearable as I really don’t like really hot weather. Have arrived here today and now in September it’s 23:30 and we are sat outside on the balcony, drinking wine and listening to a great singer at a local bar and life couldn’t be better. So even in Spain I appreciate autumn and winter too 😁

Autumn and winter ❄️

Same. Although I don't love Christmas these days.

SammyScrounge · 08/09/2025 22:41

Autumn

I love winter. I love cosy nights, candles, hot water bottles ect. Halloween decorations and Christmas lights. I even like dark mornings and evenings but that could be because I absolutely hate hot weather!

@Trophy136 we should be best friends. this is exactly how i feel too Smile

I always used to say Autumn into Winter and I do love it. I like the way the world seems to blanket itself under purple and reds after the scorched blue skies of summer. However, I've learned to appreciate the changing seasons and the differences they bring. I like the different air qualities, the subtle shifts and the ever-changing gardens. The cyclical nature is endlessly comforting.

Definitely Autumn (Sept, Oct, Nov).
Then late spring/early summer (April, May, June)
Then Early winter (December)
Then summer (July, August)
The worst by far is January and February. Awful.

Completely agree.

ILoveWhales · 08/09/2025 22:58

June. The longest days of the year.

greengagesummers · 08/09/2025 23:02

Spring is my favourite season! Just even the thought of cherry blossoms cheers me up.

CarpeVitam · 08/09/2025 23:05

Autumn. Always.

I’ve thought about this long and hard in the past and realised what I love best is the change of season, the feeling of something new to look forward to.

Nope, there has never ever been a time when I've found something to look forward to about winter.

Spring and summer. June is glorious.

I’m the same. The light evenings make life much easier.

Gladysknightjustwalkinmyshoes · 09/09/2025 06:50

Spring, summer, autumn love them.
NE Scottish winter can sod off.

I go a bit mad for Christmas so love December. Twinkling lights, mulled wine, festive activities. I love a dog walk on a cold frosty clear morning. I like cozy evenings in January when everything is a little cosier annd more chilled. By February I’m done with winter for sure though.

Terracottafarmers · 09/09/2025 06:58

I love autumn. It's just such a lovely time of year with the changing of seasons. It's still mild and not too cold and the colours are so beautiful.

frozendaisy · 09/09/2025 06:59

June, September and then bizarrely January.

Icebreakhell · 09/09/2025 06:59

I love autumn - but only when we get a dry one! Followed by spring, then summer. Winter can get in the bin!

EffectivelyDecluttering · 09/09/2025 07:03

Spring for me, long hours of daylight, bulbs in the garden, bluebells, everything fresh and green. Relief after the gloominess of winter and before the heat of summer. Autumn second best, relief that the hot weather is over but can still sit out in the evenings up to a point, depressing that the days are getting shorter though, I love daylight. Winter is worst with its short days, damp, cold, driving to work and back in the dark. Summer can be mixed, I like the typical British summer well enough but not when it's relentlessly hot and dry like this year has been. So nice to see the grass turn green again after the recent rains.

ILoveLukeAlderton · 09/09/2025 07:05

I used to really hate January but lately I’ve found it very calming with no pressure to do anything. My birthday is mid Feb and after that things seem to get going again but I really like that 6 weeks of peace now.

This is my absolute favourite time though - a slight chill in the air but warm sunny days that you want to make the most of because they’re the last we’ll get for a while.

I love something about all the seasons but these threads always make me roll my eyes a bit with the talk of crisp days and no mention of the endless damp, grey ones we usually get.

TheaBrandt1 · 09/09/2025 07:11

Summer - May to July possibly August. Love the heat / swimming / summer nights mid July. Feeling warm is heaven to me. And the summer holiday.

Next sept to Christmas.

Feb - April are the shit months

catlovingdoctor · 09/09/2025 07:20

Summer. May onwards cheers me up.

TheGrimSmile · 09/09/2025 07:29

Autumn, winter, spring in that order. Summer is my.least favourite.

SparklyGlitterballs · 09/09/2025 07:32

Spring, when everything is coming to life again, the mornings are getting lighter and the temperatures aren't too hot. Perfect for me.

TheGrimSmile · 09/09/2025 07:33

But I love all the changing seasons. I lived in San Francisco for a while and the weather is always the same, they don't seem to have seasons. It was so strange and I would hate to live somewhere with no seasons. I'd actually prefer to live somewhere with more extreme seasons than the UK. I lived in Lyon for a while and they had proper seasons there: thick snow in the winter, cold crispy autumn days and hot, dry summers.

MyElatedUmberFinch · 09/09/2025 07:41

Summer, I love to read in the shade in my garden, the washing dries quickly and I am
a members of a spa with an outside pool so I love to go there.

I like January too, this January was the first one I didn’t really enjoy.
