I like the summer but lots of people say they prefer autumn and some say winter because of Christmas, my mum says spring because it’s full of anticipation.
what time of year do you like?

I go a bit mad for Christmas so love December. Twinkling lights, mulled wine, festive activities. I love a dog walk on a cold frosty clear morning. I like cozy evenings in January when everything is a little cosier annd more chilled. By February I’m done with winter for sure though.

I'm in NZ so we don't even have Christmas to look forward to in winter. I did not enjoy walking to work on frosty mornings and am so happy I'm now retired and can stay in bed a bit longer! I actually love snow but we hardly ever see it these days. I could probably cope with one month of winter, and the snow on the mountains is certainly gorgeous, but after that one month I'm done.

Spring, no question.
especially when the daffodils come out

user1476613140 · 09/09/2025 08:06

Autumn.

BuddyGiveOver · 09/09/2025 08:08

Autumn and Spring - prefer milder temperatures

zaazaazoom · 09/09/2025 08:08

I love the start of every season. But the end of spring (apart from this weird year) usually drags on and on and on and drives me insane.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 09/09/2025 08:08

Autumn and Winter.

ImAPreMadonna · 09/09/2025 08:17

Spring to Autumn; the long, bright sunny days and then the glide into lower sun, blue skies and the trees going red and gold. Beautiful, especially this year.

I detest the Christmas period (but not the Christian festival). Really hate it, so can’t stand December. It feels like a pressure cooker building in my head from the end of October and I exhale so deeply on the 27th December.

May. On the cusp of the light nights, warmth, everything is new and green and lush, the cow parsley is frothing, and it's all lying ahead. Autumn can get in the bin because what's lying ahead is six months of dark and damp and cold. I'm not a pumpkin spiced person 😂

I agree with you @Mitherations
May into June.

indoorplantqueen · 09/09/2025 08:27

I like all seasons. When a new season starts I’m ready for the change. I dislike January and February, so always arrange a holiday/ trips in these months to break it up.

I like January too, this January was the first one I didn’t really enjoy.

I just like the stillness, bareness of January after the excess of December!

It's like the cleansing of lemon sorbet on the palette after a rich meal sort of thing.

The vibe of autumn from inside my house, the weather of late spring early summer if im outside

TappyGilmore · 09/09/2025 08:31

Spring! I live in New Zealand, so October and November are totally the best months. The weather is nice but not too hot. December is good too but can sometimes get a bit too crazy busy with all the end of year stuff at school and activities.

TeeBee · 09/09/2025 08:34

Spring. I love everything coming back to life after the winter snooze.

JacknDiane · 09/09/2025 08:43

September, I love September

I also live in NZ and I think March, April, and sometimes May are the best months, although I will be happy enough to see summer.

deeahgwitch · 09/09/2025 09:15

I wonder if when you are born influences your favourite time of year ?
I love early sumner. I was born in late spring.
I really dislike late October and November.

Goatblu · 09/09/2025 09:48

Summer, especially June.

No, it makes my birth month marginally less awful but it is still second bottom of my favourites list.

No, I was born in winter and I dislike winter.

I realised during Covid that what I hate most about Winter is going to work in the dark and returning in the dark when also cold/wet/icy. When I was WFH 3 days a week I disliked Winter a lot less with an extra hour of sleep and no morning commute (even a walk of 45 mins). Also when WFH I would go for a walk along the river every lunchtime and appreciate the changing seasons more while spotting the occasional seal or whooper swan.

Late April - early May (am in North so this may vary by 2 weeks) when the beeches are just in fresh green leaf but the canopy hasn't closed and you can still see squirrels/woodpeckers and the first Queen bees are out (but no beastly ticks) is the best time in Scotland and I never understand why people leave the country in late Spring - everything feels alive and glorious. Used to like Autumn, but now am peri don't like the impending Endless Darkness. Love the light in Summer but not the heat as am pale Scottish peri person.

onwardjourney · 09/09/2025 17:43

I love late October and November, when the leaves are falling. There are silver birches at the end of my street and I think they look beautiful at the height of autumn. I also love August and late summer, but August can sometimes make me feel
a bit wistful and nostalgic. My least favourite month is March. I always associate March with bright sunshine and icy cold winds, which is a combination I dislike.

Denim4ever · 09/09/2025 17:49

Specifically Sept-New Year apart from any entertaining over the festive

Birthoptionss · 09/09/2025 17:50

Autumn, but to be honest once a new season hits (ok, perhaps leaving out Winter), I always feel ‘ready’ for it.

Vicliz24 · 09/09/2025 18:29

May is my favourite month for the light the increasing warmth and the sense of summer ahead. Winter can get in the bin .
