Agreed.
Those of us who have had doubts since the conviction have had to defend ourselves against accusations of being conspiracy theories and carefully point out the problems with both the legal system and the medical evidence in as factual a way as we can, with our limited knowledge / resources / experience in some cases, because never assume Malice over incompetence etc...
And now as more and more comes out, there does seem to be conspiracy at every level, not pre-planned, but the result of arse and reputation covering and probably for some involved, the realisation that they have (hopefully) with the best of intentions, cocked up in such a massive way that their only psychological defence is to double down.
If only, right back at the beginning, someone had said to Ravi and Brearey:
"Are you sure? Are you really, really sure, that this nurse is a serial killer? Do you have concrete evidence? How confident are you in your gut instincts, when often you will scoff at those of your patients / their carers, because it's not scientific? Do you have any idea what will happen if you pursue this? Are you ready to destroy this nurses life, and expose yourselves and your hospital and colleagues to extreme scrutiny? Have you considered every single variable in the situation, and do you really think you can hand it all off to the police and expect them to do the leg work in a situation far outside their remit?"
Or maybe they did, but we're so confident in themselves, nothing would swerve them.
I'm almost waiting for one of them to come up with a repressed memory of Lucy Letby conducting a Satanic ritual with all the bells and whistles in between night feeds.
I also still can't get my head around the police flip flopping "Nah, nothing much to see here mate, not much to work on, don't think it's got legs" to "We're going to nail this bitch if it's the last thing we do".
We are in the realms of conspiracy / not conspiracy, and the overall flavour of believing six impossible things before lunch......
