No daytime TV here. If it’s on at a friends house when I pop round I find it unbearable.

Each to their own.

Oh look at all you superior beings who don't watch the telly.

No one on here has suggested they are superior. We all have different tastes and lives.
Your comment is just nasty.

Buxusmortus · 06/09/2025 21:25

I've never watched any TV in the morning in my life. Even when my children were living here the TV never went on in the morning. In fact the only times it has ever been on the day has been for events such as royal weddings or funerals or if a world shattering event has occured eg something like 9/11. I listen to R4 all the time though.

SpottyAardvark · 06/09/2025 21:26

I don’t watch anything.

I listen to Radio 4, as I have every morning since I was in sixth form. R4 is also the last thing I listen to before I go to sleep at night.

stargirl1701 · 06/09/2025 21:29

On the television? Nothing! Radio only in the morning. TV not until ‘after school’ #70sBaby

CatchTheWind1920 · 06/09/2025 21:30

Tv doesn't go on in our house in the mornings. I grew up with GMTV in the background 😁 but now, I don't put it on or no one would get ready...

ExitPursuedByABare · 06/09/2025 21:31

Tv before the 6 pm news is common.

Why the assumption that I put the TV on in the morning? Mine doesn't go on until evening.

To answer your question: the birds in the tree outside my bedroom window.

I really don’t understand why you would click on this thread if you don’t. The clue is literally in the title!!

the op had made no assumption! This topic isn’t for you. Move along!

RomainingCalm · 06/09/2025 21:35

No TV in the morning, I love radio though and wake up to R4 and then switch to R2.

If DH comes down first he’ll always put BBC Breakfast on but I can’t cope with it first thing.

NevilleBigBottom · 06/09/2025 21:36

Channel 4. Countdown, Cheers, (currently) King of Queens, Frasier

DramaAlpaca · 06/09/2025 21:36

I don't watch TV in the morning. It might go on when I get home from work in the evening, but usually it's around 9pm before I sit down to watch something. I don't like the TV on as background noise.

pistachioandnuts · 06/09/2025 21:39

TV not switched on until early evening. Check in on news online. Have never watched morning TV ,enjoy the peace and quiet TBH .

LillyPJ · 06/09/2025 21:40

Nothing. I never watch TV in the morning.

Appalonia · 06/09/2025 21:40

Frasier. But I'm pretty much retired so my morning probably starts later than most of you!😂

PixelatedLunchbox · 06/09/2025 21:41

Oh look at all you superior beings who don't watch the telly.

Why do you think we are superior? I just assumed we had different tastes and different lives.

fussychica · 06/09/2025 21:43

Nothing, read a selection of papers online instead. Retired but generally TV doesn't go on until evening unless it's sport.

WetSlates · 06/09/2025 21:44

Hit a nerve?

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/09/2025 21:44

I have the radio on nearly 24/7 and only watch tv once the kids are down at night.

Gladysknightjustwalkinmyshoes · 06/09/2025 21:49

GMTV usually and switch to anything else if certain political stories pop up.

Notinmylifethyme · 06/09/2025 21:49

Morning or daytime TV is only on if I'm ill in bed.

I find it an incentive to get back to work🤣

GoldDuster · 06/09/2025 21:51

Podcast via Spotify or BBC Sounds til others get up and then music. I'm not sure how I could get ready and everyone get out of the house on time if the TV went on. I think if I tried to get ready for the day and watch the TV at the same time progress would grind to a halt, and it's in a different room to where all the morning stuff is happening, which in our house is the kitchen/bathroom

AllrightNowBaby · 06/09/2025 21:52

Radio on all day but never switch tv on until 8 or 9pm.
So I might watch the birds on the feeder while I’m feeding my dog.

Selflessness · 06/09/2025 21:54

Nothing. Radio 4 on the way to work. At 7.30am

BotswanaBay · 06/09/2025 21:55

Nothing, there's enough noise in my head first thing, without contributing to it.
