Snowball. A cocktail comprising advocaat & lime cordial topped up with lemonade & served with a maraschino cherry on a stick. I have never ordered one, or drunk one (I assume they taste disgusting) but I have mixed hundreds.
When I was working in local pubs in my home town back in the late 80s, snowballs were very popular with ladies of a certain age who were enjoying a Saturday night out with their husbands. They were perceived as a more sophisticated ‘ladies’ drink’ than beer or cider, but less posh than a G&T. Nobody drank wine in working class pubs in those days.
