If you’ve had an amazing holiday in the past couple of years, please can you recommend the resort to me?

We’re looking at Egypt or Morocco for next Easter - somewhere at least 25 degrees.

Needs to have amazing food, no sunbed wars, and have amazing cleanliness standards.

Budget £4.5k for 2 adults 2 kids flying from Manchester for a week.

Have found some good options with Tui but really keen on personal recommendations - it’s a lot of money for us and we want to make sure it’s the right place.

Thank you!

We are off to Turkey next Easter.

I can recommend the Avanti Village in Paphos, Cyprus. We stayed there in Easter 2018 and loved it!

thank you - worried it might be a bit cold for me in April

It was warmer than I thought it was going to be tbh. Managed to swim in the sea, but the pool was too cold for me. Kids still went in though!

It should be around 22c to 25c in Cape Verde at that time. The Canaries or Malta can be pleasantly warm then but with temps dropping in the evening. Alternatively, if you want to guarantee hot weather head to Dubai, Thailand or Mexico. Realistically nowhere in Europe is going to be foolproof at that time of year, although you can strike it lucky.

We were to Marrakesh last Easter and stayed at Eden andalou resort and spa. It was beautiful. The rooms were huge, the whole place was super clean. Food was amazing and one of the pools were heated, but the other pool was fine too. Only 15 minutes to the airport and they do free private pick up. I booked through booking.com as it was cheaper than a package.

Melia Tortuga Cape Verde
I know CV gets mixed reviews but this hotel was lovely and the food was great.
Only a 6 hour flight but pretty hot most of the year
Not loads to do but for a week it was great

Also been to canaries at Easter three times and it was hot there. Stayed in mogan.

What age are the children and what do they like to do? Are they swimmers, snorkellers? Would they use water slides? Do you want a (British or hotel) kids club?

Have been on lots of Egypt holidays, but recommendations would depend on the above.

All out of my budget, but this is why I’m looking for Egypt and Morocco recommendations as they are in budget and temp

11 and 13, swimming, water slides, pool, darts, never tried snorkelling but I’d defo take them, no kids club needed but good evening entertainment is welcome

lookibg forward to your recommendations!

Ooh will have a look, didn’t occur to me to price it separately

Amazing place was the jaz aquaviva. Amazing water park on site, food was good, private beach with 10-15 min bus transfer. Some snacks and soft drinks available there too. Amazing reef to have a look at.

mamagogo1 · 03/09/2025 17:15

The canaries average 22 in early April. Morocco is similar as is Egypt. It could be warmer but I do think you need realistic expectations for Easter, it’s why it’s cheaper

JimmyGiraffe · 03/09/2025 17:20

Egypt will be warm at Easter, Cape Verde will be warm during the day, but quite chilly at night. Having tried many places at Easter, I think Egypt (I love Sharm el Sheikh) would be your best bet

Marrakech is labelled as 25 and Sharm as 31
i know from experience to swim in need 25 min

not fussed about nighttime temps

This place is great for families though as ours are older now we haven't been for a few years:

We did a few Easter's there and weather was always super and food is great and due to the time difference children can stay up later on UK time. Lovely interconnecting rooms too.

We went to Sharm at Easter, definitely wasnt that hot, It was around 24 which is good enough for me. Pools were baltic though so bear that in mind if you want to swim, you will need an acclimatised one.

Dartmoorcheffy · 03/09/2025 17:48

Gran castillo in playa blanca, lanzarote. Great food, family friendly, heated pools and by the beach too.

exLtEveDallas · 03/09/2025 17:51

Jaz Aquaviva in Makadi Bay is good, and the rooms are great for being able to separate from teens but still be in the same room. It's a bit further out from the main Makadi strip though, so for that reason I would recommend the Jaz Makadi Saraya Resort over it - you can still get a free shuttle bus to the waterpark, and you are closer to the beach for snorkelling.

Again in Makadi Bay the Sunrise Royal Makadi has excellent food, 7 Al La carte restaurants included, a wonderful house reef, mini water park and lots of sports. Evening entertainment is pretty poor though.

Further into Hurghada I would recommend Pickalbatros White Beach - food was great, on the beach, entertainment pretty good and closer to the Hurghada Marina and Sheraton Street which is great for a night out.

if you wanted to splash out, the Pickalbatros Neverland Jungle Aqua Park. It has everything you'd want, it's a massive resort recently extended and has absolutely loads to do. Not on the beach, but there is a shuttle (and mini train) down to their sister hotel (beach isn't great in Hurghada centre though - no reefs). Close to the Senzo Mall too.

Easter is a great time to visit Egypt, and the best time to do a Luxor or Giza trip as it's hot, but not too hot. If you do, go for a private escorted trip, well worth the money, and a much better deal than going with a tour operator.

The south of Gran Canaria is one of the warm least windy spots in the Canaries. Puerto Rico to Puerto Morgan is lovely. 4hour flight. Gloria Amadores might be good. Lovely hotel and walkably close to two beaches if you want off the resort.
Tons of dolphin watching, scuba’s, boat trips with water toys etc etc available.
