Following on from the other thread…. Which tv series did they carry on too long?

We have seen some excellent examples of shows ended in their prime that we all wanted more of - now what about the tv series that we loved… but then they carried on too long and ruined it.

Scrubs - I like to pretend the whole Med School drain just never happened

House - What were they thinking in the final season?

The series that gave us “it eats you, starting with your bottom”, Willow turning into Warren, the slaughter of an Abercrombie and Fitch catalogue that gave us Anya’s backstory and Spike saving the world, a shitshow compared to the arse clenching awfulness of Riley, Glory and bloody Tara, who was wetter than a haddock’s bathing costume? Surely not! I grant you the Potentials were dreadful tbf.

I like Glory. She was an interesting villain. I wish she had more of a back story. I am with you on Riley, but all of Buffy's love interests are awful. Riley is just the worst of them. What's wrong with Tara though?

I' m currently watching the rerun on STV player and absolutely loving these early episodes.
I know when it was originally shown there came a point where I said Enough is Enough because it became so unbearabley ridiculous I gave up watching.
I'm interested to see with this rerun how long I actually continue to enjoy it and at one point I'll give up on it second time around for the same reason.

Tara was just so moon faced and wet. I grant you that Glory melting her brain or whatever she did probably didn’t help, but no spark or humour at all. You’re right tbh about the love interests. Although I rather enjoyed Buffy and Spike knocking the house down…..I hope the reboot isn’t woeful. I refused to watch the Frasier one as why ruin perfection?

Season 4 wasnt good..at all.

Once Upon a Time. Concept was lovely and the show was so good to start then it just lot its spark and kept going round and circle especially with Belle and Rumple. Then the last season was just pointless as same story but with Henry being a adult..

Hollyoaks. Time to end it. Since the year jump and so many characters being killed off and again its just gangs and murders. Do the anniversary and that be it.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne , it's because people can recognise traits of the characters in people they know.
You might need to watch a few episodes to get it.
It's got some brilliant lines in it. The acting is excellent.

I gave up on that one ..talk about dragging it out and it got more ridiculous and unfunny as time went on.
