Esso had the 'tiger in your tank' slogan in those years. A free gift with their fuel was a furry tiger tail on an elastic loop. As petrol caps of the day stuck out from the car body, you could hang the tail on it and look as though a tiger was disappearing into your tank.

Just heard myself saying "yes ok 'super, smashing, great' " - sarcastically, in response to a ridiculous suggestion. Now, where did that come from?

I remember it well when it was on TV (it seemed as if it was endlessly repeated on RTE), but I never watched it -- why was it that they were all in hospital for so long? Were they terminally ill? Did that not make it very dark?

No they weren't terminally ill. They were discharged in the very last episode ☺️

It's the reverse of what we see now , when someone has a baby the baby is around for a few weeks , disappears into the living room and comes back as a 4 Yr old and hangs about for a few weeks the goes to their bed room and reappears as a teenager.
