My endless Blackadder quotes.

I work with someone in her 30s who didn’t know who Duran Duran were. I slightly died that day.

It started badly, tailed off towards the middle and the less said about the end the better

JacquelineHigh · 22/08/2025 13:05

Course you can Malcolm.

Peculiar23 · 22/08/2025 13:07

This reminds me of a conversation with my mam, I was talking about eating a penguin biscuit and she starting singing this but only the if you like a lotta chocolate bit. I started laughing and she got cross and tried to argue with me that was the penguin song, I could barely breathe for laughing and told her to sing the full "song" she got as far as you typed before also bursting into laughter. Meanwhile my DD10 was looking at us like we were total weirdos as we were wiping our eyes from laughing so hard! We then sang quite a few jingles to DD, p p p pick up a penguin, red car and the blue car had a race etc but nope she (rightly to be fair given she is only 10) had no clue! We couldn't sing the club biscuit song though without breaking out into hysterics so DD still doesn't know that jingle!

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/08/2025 13:27

Winner winner chicken dinner. Heard on the bus and DD kept staring at me blankly.

Not a cultural reference as such but I realised yesterday she had no idea what a sugar lump/cube was. She’s never ever seen one. And she loves a cafe visit.

Good moaning

DH and I love a good Allo Allo quote. Our adult children look at us like we’ve got two heads 😂.

Lol yeah!

And also Fawlty Towers quotes. I LOVED that programme back in the day. It really was of its time though because it seems incredibly racist now.
